The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Good morning!

msdrby, hope you can get into the doctor and the elf-boy feels better soon.

Rosie, good luck with the dogs! If this works out will they take them right then and there? You'll have a few tears at that parting I would imagine :~\ Still worth doing to do the things you reall want to do now.

LF-Corin and other fitness elves and dwarves - I am trying this plan: Want to live longer? Then drop the fitness regime and put your feet up

We've all got a lot to learn. I want to get my hands on these video tapes called "Bug Off". It's a video series and shows things like step by step, how to remove your engine and put it back in! LOL

But they are expensive...will try to get them used off ebay or something. One at a time.

What ails ya'? I've been recovering from some really nasty bronchitis for a week now.

It's mainly my regular allergy medicine and a multi-vitamin*. I don't take 'em until after I've worked out and had some breakfast. So I bring 'em with me.

I've had the bronchial stuff I had last fall hint at coming back as well. I told the wife over the weekend "Either the cat box is leaving our bathroom (it's been there since the rennovation of the other bathroom) or the cat is leaving our house."

I'm painting the other bathroom on Friday. That will complete the makeover. Then the cat box can go back.

* and some anti-Elrondish medicine.

Mornin' folks!

I love that fitness plan of yours, Hair! Think I'll embrace it. ;-D

2J - Congrats on the Bug! Hope you can get your hands on those videos.

msdrby - prayers for elfboy. It may just be a nasty flu, but let us know what the doc says.

But they are expensive...will try to get them used off ebay or something.

I was lookin' on eBay this morning for an audio CD version of the Bible. Looks like they're runnin' about $60 or more.

After years of vowing to "Read Thru the Bible" only to fail miserably, I've realized that I could listen to it on the way home.

Yes, but is it the 'read by the original author' version?

Okay, one more Luke story and I've gotta get busy. The trolls are agitated this week...

Luke brought home his papers from Sunday School yesterday. Looked like they did the story of the Prodigal Son. He managed to put all the pig stickers in the right place. But for the son he'd colored (if you can call it that, he can read, but he can't color) the face of the Prodigal orange and black.

He told Mom, "I gave Jesus a makeover."

You mean Shakespeare?

Actually the New Testament is read by James Earl Jones. I think that's gotta be the closest to God's voice that we'll get on this side...

God's voice and Darth Vader. That is about the full range of Good to Evil.

Good morning...

Wouldn't it be nice if the "do nothing" diet and exercise plan worked? Well, I was a good girl yesterday so I should be over the cravings by tomorrow. Looked at the scale and nearly cried, but that's my fault.

Rosie, let us know how the dogs go! I am praying...

Nice slow morning, I think I'll show up at work around ten. Twenty hours a week is super nice when you don't also have classes and homework.

Corin, is that the set read by James Earl Jones? "Darth Vader Reads Scripture"...

I hope so too...

I just requested it from the library...see what I can accomplish there. If I can get them interlibrary loan, that would be GREAT!

Too cute!

Kids are always good for a laugh. Thank heaven for that!

The trolls are agitated here too. Ya think it's something that was said in a troll meeting over the weekend?
