Glad you could fit us in somewhere!
You're getting wine recommendations from WebMD? I didn't know they offered that service. :-)
The holidays are so hectic that sometimes you don't even get to really enjoy them with those you love the most. *sigh*
Thanks Hair...he's a pretty good guy, ol' Steve. Puts up with me calling him the Blond Bombshell all the time. :-)
I'm so proud of him. He's sure worked hard these last few years...really ever since we got married! I mean, we got married Dec of '91 and he started back to college in Jan. of '92, went straight through till he graduated in August of 1994. I guess he started back to college in 1997 and has been going pretty much ever since, taking summers off until recently.
After thirteen years, I think the worst thing about him is he sometimes leaves a tissue in his sweat pants and I wash 'em and get itty bits of tissue all over our clothes. Irritates me no end, but it's not the worst thing he could do!
I'm so lucky.
It's to help lower my cholesterol!!! LOL
No kidding...Red Zinfandel, 16 proof, can lower your cholesterol just like a pill! Well, I can't afford the 16 proof...but I did the best I could...
Not as glad as I am.
I've finally made the decision to get a new job. Yesterday was the final straw. I was at that office until 8:30PM. Eleven and a half hour day.
And for what? To come in this morning only to discover that due to a "system glitch", half of the payrolls I ran yseterday didn't go through, so I had to run them ~again~ today.
2 people have given their notice already and I've already placed a call to my friends who own a staffing place.
My dad came in from Chicago on Sunday and I have yet to spend more than 10 minutes with him. It's ridiculous and definitely not worth it. *shakes head*
Keep my job hunt in your prayers please. I'm hoping something better comes along quick.
BTW: If anybody sees a list of the casualties (when released) in the Mosul attack, could you please ping me to it?
There's a guy over there in the Stryker brigade that I know. Unfortunately, I don't know his last name or else he'd have a knife. He's a regular at the Sunset Grill. It's one of those things where I've talked to the guy many times but it was only on an acquaintance basis. He shipped out for Mosul just a couple of months ago, in the relief Stryker brigade. He's a captain, and his first name is Tim. I don't know anything more than that.
Oh, Ramius...I hope he's not one of 'em...
And just so it doesn't sound like I whine about hard work, there's more to it than that.
They gave each of us a $25 American Express Gift Cheque right before Thanksgiving as our holiday "bonus". Twenty-five bucks. Whoopy-dee-do.
To add insult to injury, last Friday after checking my pay stub, I realized that they had added the $25 to my gross pay in order to tax the stupid money and then took the whole $25 out of my net pay as an "advance".
Oh please.
So basically, when I spent the twenty-five dollars, $5 of it was my own money. *rolls eyes*
Prayers up for Tim's safety!
Have another glass of wine ;~D
Good luck finding a job that leaves you a life. It's important.
Sure will if I see it.
note: "proof" is double the percent alcohol. 16 proof would be 8% alcohol (and I know of beer as strong as that). Most wine is 15% or so, IIRC, though I'm not much of a wine drinker.
Me... I go for Wild Turkey, 101 proof. Wooohooo! Why mess around? :-)
Heh!!!
It's just a hassle because we don't have a dryer and the tissue doesn't come off on the line unless it's a very windy day...
I gotta pick off those little pieces of tissue...grrrr.....
;-)
Happy Anniversary (tomorrow). That is great, a wonderful family you have there.
Thanks, chica.
I just love the way you boil things down to such a simple and smart phrase!
Ahh...well, this is 13.5 percent alcohol.
