The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, at least it's cool at wet this time of year. Safer than all the fireworks happening in July.

Last year around this time we were prepping to go to Florida. We got a heavy snow right before hand and I was worrying about transporting the horses to Bob's. What were the Entmoot dates again?

Morning Hair et al.

Gypsygirl did pretty good, got a bit anxious but settled back down in her bed fairly quickly. Fireworks lasted about 15 minutes or so and then all was quiet in theshire.

Glad to hear Homer wasn't too upset with the fireworks.

Sigh... must have been the next weekend, no? Around the 6th?

Ugh, now that I am dressed and awake and everything I get told not to pick the bothers up until noon. I hate the cruel world.

I haven't had nearly enough. I was only up until two...or so...but late enough!

But I couldn't sleep anymore. Too many ideas bouncing around.

Well, we turned off the show at 3:15 ish. And then had to haul away the computer and put back the furniture. And then someone wouldn't shut up and let me sleep...

That late? I thought it had to be earlier because otherwise I'd have missed more classes...
