If I don't see ya...have a Happy New Year!
Hehehe....
Gots some happy duty...OB and LSA are coming over for New Year's Day for peas and collards. Think they'll like suthern cookin'?
Afternoon! It's so warm here that I've got the windows open to air the place out a bit.
I don't like it. The last time it was this unseasonably warm, a tornado trashed Raleigh the next day.
JenB likes "Gone With the Wind?!!"
Evenin' all! :-)
Collards? Ack, spit, patooie!!
Make them folks some corn bread, and then if they DO like the collards, they'll have something to sop up the pot likker with! ;o)
I totally forgot about Hoppin John and stuff for New Years!! I'm going to make Turkey and Dressing and I'll do some Black Eyed peas on the side. I'll go shopping tomorrow afternoon to get my turkey, then I don't have to freeze the sucker! I will have to get some more corn meal and eggs, though. I just used up all I had making some corn bread to go with the chili for supper.
Yeah, well, the midwest is known for them, too. :o(
Howdy! So, you think folks can convince the Repubs. in Congress to repeal SOX? My s-i-l was complaining about it the other day. She keeps getting interrupted in a project she's doing for the feds by folks who need her help on SOX.
Collards are good for ya! What wine do you serve with collards?
Yep, I'm planning on making cornbread.
I think it is essential that SOX is repealed. What I don't really understand is why it hasn't been a bigger national news story. Word in the various IT journals has all been about how lots of the fortune 500 are going to go down in flames and fail their SOX audits.
This means an unfavorable opinion in the financial statements. Funny how something can be both basically meaningless and devastating at the same time.
Create a bunch of hopelessly unattainable standards, and then run news story after news story sometime in March about how "failed" the IT departments of the fortune 500 are.
Hi Ramius, Happy New Year!
Nappy Hew Near!!! :-) [sip]
Seems to me that 2003 just ended, and I'm not even ready or budgeted for 2004 yet. I think my calendar batteries must have run down. There is just no way it is 2005 yet.
Is there any way to stop this? :-)
I don't think we can stop it...I'm still back in the 80's, for that matter.
I got an idea for another bow. I have all these atlatl darts lying around, about 6 feet long, I'd love to make a bow that could shoot those. I think it would be too much for a man to handle, would probably need to be mounted on wheels, like a small cannon, and wound up. A good idea, I think.
As I recall... there were some fairly impressive arrow-launcher devices in medieval history that would fire some larger than usual bolts. I'm picturing an oversize crossbow on a carriage mount pulled by a pair of horses.
Seems perfectly suitable for the back of a pickup truck.
Hmm... one of those, a pickup truck, a six pack, and a bunch of rioting anarchist wannabe hippies... now we're talking quality entertainment. :-)
I like the trebuchet alot, too, but what sort of ammo would you recommend?
Fur mice. :)
Me too... for now, I gotta settle for the potato cannon, which, by the way, is heap big fun. :-)
Hmmm... a potato trebuchet... cheaper than the one that would toss a piano....
Bowling balls. Good ballistics, and consistent flight. :-)
Think I might get one of those table top models. I can lob rocks at the squirrels in the back yard. :)
