New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Rewrites are goooood...
How far are you?
That could be, Rosie. Sorry.
You must have used it - my spellchecker didn't like it 'til I added it!
Strange indeed! Great minds think alike, perhaps? Heh...
I think mine was an elf-y name, too, which is reasonable.
In your story or in mine?
In yours...I only read the first chapter and a tiny bit of the second.
In my story, I have a lot to type out of my notebook...something like 25 notebook pages. Not sure how many words that adds up to - maybe 5000? Bringing it to just under 10k total so far. I imagine I'll hit about 40k in the end.
It's not really a surprise - he did warn me it would likely be back within a year. But it means going through the tough decisions again.
But I think I should at least have her looked at, I guess.
40k... with a little trimming it could be a solid short story.
Sure. Have it looked at. Yours outlived our kitty by a long shot already.
What's the official limit for a short story? 30k?
Yah know... back when I was in school, we had a name for people with pants that didn't fit: Dorks.
I'll plead guilty to being a nerd when I was in school, but at least I wasn't dorky enough to have pants that would fall around my knees if I ran too fast.
Can someone *please* explain to me how in today's world this is now somehow "cool"??
I remember saying to my friends back then that there was just no way there could ever be a "generation gap" between our generation and our kids. After all, here we were listening to AC/DC, The Scorpions, Judas Priest... what could our kids ever come up with that was more radical that what we ourselves were into? Nothing!! No way!!
[sigh]
That was then, this is now. What *is* it with these kids today? :-)
She's just about 10...guess that's not a horribly short life when it comes to it, if worse comes to worst. And at least she's perfectly happy and comfortable.
I'll keep everyone posted!
What's really stupid, is they get chased a lot by cops... and they might get away if they didn't trip over their pants.
On the optimistic side.... could it just be scar tissue around the old incision point or one of the stitches?
Not even as funny as the perps that get caught because they're runnin' away from the cops in bas-etballshoos that have little lights in 'em than fire as you run. Gotta love that.
Sorry for the colors, but it was the only copy of this article I could find quickly...
Davy Barry on the subject:

See... when we were bad.... we dressed for it.
I don't think so - it's a round little lump, further forward than the other and not right near a nipple. Feels similar to the original, but still small at this point.
Um, I don't get it and I am their generation. I don't want to see someone's underwear, or worse, their plumber's crack!
Biggest difference I've noticed between my gen and my parents/grandparents is that we're even more cynical and less trusting. I blame it on the blog worldview.
It's not every day Rosie points you to an article at the "Love Dungeon". ;~D
OK - well keep us posted...
