Right-click on the icon and choose delete to get rid of it. Then you have to go into Control Panel/Add and Remove Programs and try to uninstall QT or any other annoying program.

I'm speaking of a program that I do not wish to remove from my hard drive. I simply want to remove the icon from the system tray. Right-clicking with 'Delete' only removes the icon until the next time I re-boot.
