Rapid growth seen in number of conservative Christian schools SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Frustration with public education seems to be growing among the nation’s Southern Baptists, with supporters of Christian schools and home schooling arguing that if God is absent from the classroom then their children should leave, too. The number of conservative Christian schools grew by nearly 11 percent between 1999-2000 and 2001-2002, to 5,527, according to the U.S. Department of Education’s latest statistics. Earlier this year, a resolution proposed at the national meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention — which guides the nation’s largest Protestant denomination — urged parents to withdraw their children from “officially Godless” “government schools” in favor of religious education.

The ratmedia will continue to smother stories like this, but it won't do them any good. Change is happening right now. History is happening every day and it looks like it's all green for us.

Yes, the Southern Baptists were very close to condemning public schools. God bless them.

In Oklahoma, one town recently voted against two bond issues for the town's schools after a big flap over Christmas caroling in the schools.

Got my two little ones lined up for private school.

We need to band together now and consistently vote against funding the athiest schools.

I had thought about retiring this year. I'm good for at least another 18 years though:') The movement is growing. I placed my little grandson in private school this year. My husband and I gave up eating out at expensive restaurants. Healthier too:') One Mom gave up the new car payment and drives the older paid for one. Private school no longer just for the wealthy. A woman at my church told me that the school my grandson goes to only had about 14 enrolled when it opened. Now that many are just in one K4 class. Another in this area just added 9th and 10th grade. Lot's of home schoolers showing up too.

Now if there were only government subsidized Christian schools. Parents have it rough this day and age, public schools are no longer an option. Leave them to the illegals, and the Godless but lets stop funding them.

Home schooling has become very popular hopefully the Godless wont notice and try to make them illegal. Weren't they illegal at one time? Its been a while since I had little ones so I am not up on this issue.

An agnostic but congratulating the Christian schools and home schooling in general....

This is our only hope against the self serving insanity of the NEA which has essentially destroyed public education.

If we were 'winning', the public schools would be getting better, and private Christian schools wouldn't be necessary. If we were 'winning', prayer would be back in school. The evidence cited is proof we are not winning.

Stay Alert, we haven't won yet:

IRG Ramadan Project

Building upon the momentum generated by its participation in Minnesota Education Professional Conference that drew over 12,000 educators, the IRG is planning to make available a package of books and video that will help sufficiently equip the educators in public schools to teach about Islam. Each of the resources has been approved by public school educators as acceptable materials for presenting Islam in the classroom.

You probably won't have to wait long for the Godless/NEA/ACLU to try to make hs'ing illegal. It's always been, and ALWAYS WILL BE ABOUT THE MONEY. When the publik skools start losing revenue for dropping enrollment levels, that's when the war starts.
