Hi folks, I have been right-clicking, going into properties everywhere, but can't seem to find a way to show all of my programs, without an arrow appearing. The arrow appears right below MS Word, in the photo below. Does anyone know how to get rid of this "show me more" arrow, so that all the programs pop up automatically?
Many thanks.....

Swinging a chicken by it's neck, three times around my head usually works for me.
Now, I run WinME so it may not translate to XP.
In your control panel, there should be a start menu button. Opn that, on the first page is an option "Hide inacive icons". Uncheck it.
Start>Settings>Taskbar and Start Menu>Advanced Tab.
Scroll down and uncheck "Scroll the Programs Menu". Toggle it a couple times to see what effect you get.
That only affects icons in the system tray (area where the clock and speaker icon are).
Bingo. We have a winner.
I'm assuming the two of you are using XP Pro, because where you're going, there is nothing there remotely similar.
Start>settings>taskbar and start menu
then click the start menu tab, select Classic Start Menu then click customize
scroll to the last Advanced Start menu option and be sure "Use Personalized Menu's" is unchecked
Win2K here at work. The path to the same area will probably be different in XP's redesigned Start Menu but the functionality should all be there.
It's in two places in XP, left clicking the start button, or in the control panel under "taskbar and start menu". There is no option to prevent hiding items in the start menu, short of doing a registry hack or using something like TweakUI.
Correction: Right clicking the start button and clicking "properties" brings up the dialog box to change how things look and perform in the start menu.
I looked through TweakUI and didn't see anything related. Must have missed it.
Left click start button/click "Properties"/then click the start menu tab, select Classic Start Menu then click customize /Uncheck "scroll programs"....then complet the process by clicking OK/Apply/OK...that's it.
Bingo!!! Thanks everyone for your help!!!! Cannot thank you enough!!!!

Yep, that helped too! Many thanks, BigSkyFreeper!
