How to stop worrying?
1. Make a top ten list of your worries.
2. Write out to the side in the 2nd column at least one thing you can do to fix that problem.
3. If there is nothing you can honestly think of, then realize that one is in God's hands and trust Him.
4. If there's something you can do, then do that, and then see if there's other things that you can do.
5. Don't do it if it is 'sin'.....
Worried about anything in particular, or just general worry?
My pastor is fond of saying, "Worrying is Stewing without Doing." Ask yourself: is this situation in or out of my control? If it's in your control, take action. If it's out, accept that you have no control over it and move on.
Easier said than done, I know.
There are only two things to worry about, whether you sick or whether you are well. If you're well, there's nothing to worry about.
If you're sick, there are only two things to worry about, whether you are going to live or whether you are going to die.
If you're going to live, then there's nothing to worry about.
If you going to die, then there are only two things to worry about. Whether you are going to heaven, or whether you are going to hell.
If you are going to heaven, there is nothing to worry about, and if you are going to go to hell, you'll be so damn busy shaking hands with friends, you won't have time to worry......
Sandy, it is worry in general. I do have a lovely Christian counsellor and some anti-anxiety meds. Lately, I have been convicted that God is expecting more from me. Thank you for your kind words!
Do your best. Deal with life's problems. But don't worry. Instead, have faith in Jesus that all things will work out in the way they need to work out.
"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" - Jesus Christ, Matthew 6:27
Go to 'Best Buy' and buy the new DVD movie 'Luther'.
Rotflol!!!
Absolutely!!
:>)
-Terrorists lurking behind every corner
-Global warming
-Obesity running rampant
-Everything you like causes cancer!
Have you seen the nutjobs driving out on the highways? Those are deadly missiles!!
That is an admirable vow, but difficult to maintain.
It is hard to imagine how to describe the different ways to approach such promise but I will try.
You will really need to frame everything in your life as out of your control.
You are God's active hand on Earth. It is through you He influences people's lives.
Live your days growing yourself and handling things in your life as responsibly as possible as if God were doing them instead. Praise Him for the examples of His Son and the rest of those in the Bible. And be there for others as you can.
You will not be able to stop many bad things from happening around you. The best you can do is to influence that which you can't change. Leave the rest to God and know He has allowed it to occur unless you feel compelled to really dedicate yourself to a certain cause.
Trust in Him.
I would like to more closely follow my own words; however, I tend to grow to not care at times.
To vow is a very serious step. We all need to do what you are trying to do, though, regardless of special covenant.
Others need to help pray for your commitment on this. Ask your friends and family to pray, too. Fellow members here should do likewise. Let's all pray for the glorification of God.
Keep the counselor. Dump the meds, unless they are absolutely essential. Seriesly. Good luck!
1. "what if's" or things that MIGHT happen.
2. Imaginary discussions of how things might go (or should have gone) in a conversation.
I'm not saying it is easy; it will probably take you some practice, but eventually she got to the place where she is able to control what her mind dwells on and not let her runaway thoughts control her.
Lord, help Katieanna to control her thoughts so that she can focus on the wonderful things You have done and will be doing in her life and not on those things which keep her from serving You to the best of her ability.
Seriously.
Give thanks in everything. Count your blessings.
Apocalypse Fatigue (Sing to: "A Few of My Favorite Things")
AlQaeda threats and stock market tankings
Warming that's global and Alzheimer's blankings
E coli beef and strikes in the big leagues
This is what gives me apocalypse fatigue
El Nino, La Nina, and no Nina weather
Extincted birds that can't flock together
Pig farm pollution and medicinal weed
This is what gives me apocalypse fatigue
When the Dow flops
and the rain stops
When the bills come due
I simply remember apocalypse fatigue
And then I don't feel so blue
Saddam Hussein and George Bush Iraqing
Meteoric near misses and dental deplaquing
Baseball teams folding and Capital intrigue
This is what gives me apocalypse fatigue
When the cell phones
Turn to cell clones
When the "girls from Enron" go bare
I simply remember apocalypse fatigue
And then I can say who cares?
Greenhouse emissions and jihads unholy
Billy Bob's breakup with Angelina Jolie
The end of the world in a media blitzkrieg
This is what gives me apocalypse fatigue
When the dam breaks
When the earth quakes
When I'm counting sheep
I simply remember apocalypse fatigue
And then I can go to sleep!
Friends,
I want to thank each one of you for your caring and thoughtful words. I shall print your comments and keep them in my Bible. I pray each of you will have a blessed Christmas. God love and bless you!
Get checked for reactive hypoglycemia... seriously
Jesus Christ came to bring us hope, not guilt. Get up every morning, make your best pitch, and trust God to take care of the rest. Hope this helps.
