I'm not sure. It's best that I don't know in advance. :-)

It's starting to look like Mr. Prairie and I may be coming down to TX instead of FL for our winter RV stint this year. Sort of a late change of plans due primarily to some key customers requests that we come to the National Cattlemens convention being held in San Antonio this year. We'd then look at either spending more time around Corpus, Houston or maybe even in the Valley. OR the Hill country which just looks gorgeous.

Will post more about it later.

Hill Country is beautiful no doubt about it, but COME TO HOUSTON.

I have an Aunt who always told me to never make fudge on a cloudy day and to make sure the sun is shining when I do make it. I've followed that rule for years and have never had a failure.

Has anyone else ever heard that?

OOEEthat is cold in Florida, Guenie, keep warm.

And how is the little glow girl this wonderful day?

IG you have come up with some great ideas and I think I'm going to try some of them. We're going to have company coming and going until New Years.

Nita, take it easy sweetie and the migrane will go away. Do what YOU want for YOURSELF for once.

Ya know Jim....I think I am going to try to make that fudge recipe that was posted today - it sounds simple and fool proof.......I just don't need to eat it :-)

Did I miss your birthday Kit? OH NO! A belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We have had a lot of rain and the river is wide, brown and rushing past the house - it has been out of its banks up river because I can see a lot of tree branches, fence posts, and even some small trees. It flooded in Nehalem yesterday morning - the ducks were swimming around in the intersection at Highway 101. Not raining this morning though - no flooding, so I am off to church.

Blessings to all.....

My grandmother made dark chocolate fudge no matter what the weather, however, she applied the rule you mentioned about a clear day when she made DIVINITY fudge. She said if you make it on a cloudy day, it won't firm up and will just stay sticky. Anyone else heard of that?

That's wonderful news, she'll be much happier and get well sooner at home.

How is Grammy and Grampa doing this cool day in Florida?

If you pass through central Texas, we have a place to park your RV and a place to sleep.

Kassie, we may just do that. We'll be in San Antone for 10 days or so. Think we will head on down to the valley for a month. We're thinking we might stay a few nights in Houston (late March, possibly early April) on the way back up and heading out east towards IL.

Will keep you posted.

Sugar and chocolate are very sensitive to water, including humidity. We wouldn't work on sugar sculptures on humid days. Cloudy days tend to be more humid than sunny days, so I would say that her advice has an element of science to it.

Hi Dog - I see Dolly has reposted my fudge recipe at #203. If you cook at all Dog, and I assume you do, you could make this recipe as it is foolproof as long as directions are followed. Just beware, it makes a LOT of fudge.
