VANITY of VANITIES
Music.
Who says it's not? Let me at 'em.
Read the thread LOL...
On the one, baby. : )
Testing testing zero one two testing!
LOL
Dennis, you and I agree on a lot of things - but I am a professional musician, and I rarely say things like this, but I am so calling bullshit on you on this one. You haven't any idea what you're talking about.
You are exactly right. I wish people would at LEAST be accurate in their speech. Instead of saying, "That's not music," they should say, "I hate this stuff."
Another one who is full of crap.
What a thread. Sheesh. Everybody's a critic.
Hey folks, a GREAT GUITAR PLAYER was just shot to death in cold blood, doing what he clearly loved. If you don't like the style of music (yes, MUSIC) he played, just MOVE ON and don't make fools of yourselves exposing how little you know about MUSIC (yes, MUSIC).
Ay ay freakin' ay.
Anybody wants to take me on, I'm all ears. I've been playing and singing professionally since I was a fifth grader. I have names on my resume that would probably shock most of you. I'm often wrong, but has been my JOB for thirty-five years, and I promise - you don't want to go there.
Should say:
"I'm often wrong about a lot of things, but this thing has been my JOB for thirty-five years, and I promise - you don't want to go there."
There.
GRRRRRRRRR...
Nice!
Dimbag may have been a good musician but...Whether in Pantera or Damage Plan his music was unlistenable. Plus the Pantera album covers have evil satanic imagery.
Let's see...
Oooh. A Rattlesnake. Whoa! Satanic to the core! Everybody considers Rattlesnakes to be the Epitome of Satanism.
Oh my God! Someone with a screw in their head, which I take to mean a person who is "screwed in the head". But hey, that could be satanic, too, if one really wanted to stretch it...
Wow! Look at that! It's the Devil punching someone in teh face! Oops. Wait. My mistake. That's just an ordinary human punching someone in the face. My bad.
This is probably the most Satanic of all! The Mother of all Satanic Album Covers! Just look at it! It's there, honest! But ya gotta look hard!
To each their own. You don't like the style of music he was in, fine. No one should have to die at the hands of a cold blooded murderer.
Joe Walsh did alot more drugs than most rock'n'rollers I know. He managed to stay alive and to tell about it. Dimebag may be a reference to drugs, but, he died by cold blooded murder.
Who said he was glorifying drugs? Oh, you did. None of the Pantera music or Dimebags solo stuff glorified drugs. If you can prove otherwise, feel free to prove I'm wrong.
Cowboys From Hell is a great album.
I previewed some of the tracks on that CD at Amazon, and plan on buying it. I agree, the stuff sounds pretty good.
Led Zeppelin may be a rock'n'roll giant, but I wouldn't classify them as a heavy metal band.
There are much bigger tragedies to worry about than a guy named Dimebag getting shot after a decade of producing violent music.CF:
Have you thought about changing your screen name to lackofvalueslackofvalueslackofvalues? In other words, shut up, Newbie.
I agree with valuesvaluesvalues. I'm no "newbie", so dump on us "old-timers", too.
So what if "Dimebag" had some conservative political views. There seems to be no correlation between political views and musical talent (or lack thereof).
Furthermore, even if he had conservative political views, he didn't seem like the type of man I'd want my daughter to marry.
