I've heard that people who urinate or deficating in public and/or strange places are very likely to have a mental problem.

And of course, we all know that "I've heard that..." is a perfectly sound argument to make during any reasonable debate.

Yes, she may have been suffering from alcoholitis, but that's not a good enough excuse for my money. She was still standing after all.

The company her husband works for were customers of mine. Somehow, he was promoted to general manager and since his promotion, they no longer do business with me. To this day I suspect my witnessing the "event" contributed to his decision. Although I socialize with the owner of his company, I could never in good conscience bring up my suspiscions as to why I am no longer their supplier. This is one of those dilemmas they never discussed in any management course I ever took.

This has got to be one of the funniest lines of the day... (grin)

I'm just imagining a long, boring management seminar, droning speaker, stuffy room after lunch, dozing audience.

The speaker asks the audience for an example of a problem.

Quilla raises her hand, a faintly evil grin running fleetingly across her face...

Her husband is probably mortified to death and too embarrassed to look you in the eye.

What an awkward business and social situation for you!

I still see him once a month as we serve on a local board together. And to tell you truth, I don't think he's mortified in any way. He seems to be proud of his decision making power and has simply erased the problem by not doing business with me. Little does he know that I'm spreading this story all over the internet today - my small slice of revenge.

Yo, mineral man:

First of all, "godless atheist" is redundant.

Second, atheism is the highest exercise of arrogance.

Thirdly, don't you belong at the democratic underworld?

I see. Well, OK, I'll respond:

First of all, yes, it is redundant. I adopted that as my tagline after being called a "godless atheist" here on FR.

Secondly, there is no arrogance in disbelief. I simply disbelieve in deities and all supernatural entities. You may believe in some deity, and that's fine with me. I promise not to call you names because of your belief.

Thirdly, I have never been to DU. I have, however, been posting here for a couple of years. I try not to tell people where they belong and do not belong. It's impolite.

"Well I recall a St. Louis alderwoman who is a black and kept her job even though she urinated in *session.* Closest I can think of."

Hmm...have a link? On the other hand, being an alderwoman is an elected position, is it not? If so, then who would have the power to remove her without some sort of recall. That's not a similar situation to this, I think.

I don't think anyones religious beliefs should be held against them. Religion of your own preference is one of the main reasons this country was founded.
