AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 1414 and 1415) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 4, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 12/04/2004 4:36:32 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Russian President claims America wants a new dictatorship in Iraq, saying Russia cannot see how a free and fair vote can be held next month with the violence in the country.

Speaking of Iraq, the Navy is investigating new photos, predating Abu Ghraib by several months. AP notes "the far more brutal practices photographed in Abu Ghraib prison occurred months later." AP writes these pictures of Navy Seals recall aspects of Abu Gharib insofar as the prisoners were being assaulted and humiliated.

The AP specifically called out the fact that there were "grinning men wearing U.S. flags on their uniforms."

Decide for yourself, here are the pictures released by AP:

Other than the one above where the Seal is sitting on the prisoner, and even that is extraordinarily borderline as no context is being given, where's the abuse? Must be the flag, since the AP is liberal, and liberals hate America.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

60s to 70s are my favorite. Not too hot and not too cold.
But here you always have to factor in the humidity.

Do you have plans for the day?

You mentioned getting an Easy Bake oven for one of the pixies.

My 8 yr. old granddaughter has been dying for one for about 4 years now. My daughter has finally given in and has bought her one. It's hiding in the closet.

Nothing special. A little football viewing mixed in with laundry and other chores.

How about you? Is your hubby in the area?

He's been home for several weeks now. A real treat during the Christmas season to have him here.

He loves to cook. He makes the best pizza from scratch. Although after he found out his cholesterol was way too high, he quit making it.

I guess he has decided to make it only at Christmas time. Once a year will probably be ok.

As for my day, I have got to clean the bathrooms and watch football!

Cat's Meow is my guilty pleasure, started when we were doing a lot of motorcycle touring and I needed easily packable souvenirs. One of our homes is very old, with high ceilings. I run the CM on plate rail 18" down from the ceiling.

Good morning! Sunny and cold this a.m. Getting ready for an afternoon of feetsball and indoor Christmas decorating.

What group owns Targets? Doesn't sound very American to me. Sounds like some foreigners own it. I don't and shall not shop at targets.

Howdy All. It's cool in central Texas. Feels wonderful.
Our tiny town had it's Christmas Tour of Homes yesterday. It began with a CHRISTMAS luncheon in a turn of the century house. We toured 6 homes and two churches. One of the chruches was an old German church. the glass windows came from somewhere in Germany. I came away with a guzzilian ideas for Christmas decorating. I wasn't going to do too much decorating this year, but now I'm in the mood. THEN I must begin my Christmas gift shopping. I haven't even sent out my CHRISTMAS cards yet. Gotta get busy.

Guenie, tell J1 we'll miss him in Texas while he's in Florida. hehe

Have been outside 'supervising' the grilling for our standard Sunday tail-gating party. Lots of folks moving slowly this morning. ;>)

Interesting thread here:

Snubbed churchgoers make selves heard on every corner (of Denver "Holiday" parade)

I feel compelled to weigh in on the Salvation Army matter. I used to do volunteer work with them around 30 years ago, even had a uniform. I helped out at their unofficial second hand store in the basement of their building. (they've long since moved into a real storefront)
I've seen up close the good works done by this evangelical organization (church). Any community that has an "Army" Corps is lucky indeed. I hate that Target, Best Buy, etc. are stopping the bell ringers.
We give them a modest check every Christmas season and I will drop a little in the kettle too. I trust their ability to help people much more than I would the Red Cross.
My bawdy b-i-l used to make disparaging remarks about the S.A. when I was active with them. He died suddenly of a heart attack at age 41 while playing golf. (not saying there's a connection or anything....)

My son will be attending a memorial service today for his young friend who died in the car crash on Thanksgiving day. I'm glad that they are holding this for the young people who didn't get to go to the private funeral a week ago.
Hubby and I are going to an arts/crafts show/sale with 120 vendors, another annual event around here.
