There are a lot of important life lessons that can be learned from NBC's 'The Apprentice.'
Things like 'passion and desire are key components to sucess' and 'you should never underestimate a competitor' and 'if youre a woman, you can get pretty much get anything you want by acting like a complete whore.'
One thing you cannot get by acting like a whore, though, is respect, and Ivana Ma, a 28 year old 'venture capitalist' from Boston found that out the hard way on last night's episode.
Dont get me wrong, I was as happy as the next guy to see Jennifer and Sandy dressed like a pair of streetwalkers, and happier still to watch Ivana take off her skirt and reveal her skimpy panties.
But it also made me a bit sad. I know, can you believe it? Disappointed by cheap sexual shenanigans that demean an entire gender? I think I must have the fever.
Sandy and Jennifer of the Mosaic team tried a slightly different tatic selling their candy bars on Wall Street in that they dressed like the 'M&M Sisters' which is apparently the new slang term for 'pair of bleached blond sluts who are almost too old to even make this look work.'
And work it they did, by traveling around in a van and preying upon groups of horny construction workers who eagerly bought the bars for $5.00 on the chance that Jen might drop their change and have to bend over and retrieve it.
When Ivana realized what the Mosaic strumpets were doing, her solution was naturally, was to offer to take off her skirt for anyone who paid $20.00 for the chocolate bar. Oh, the savage irony. Two minutes earlier she was saying Jen and Sandy looked like 'strippers from a cheap beer dive in Texas, with peanut shells on the floor.'
Then suddenly, she's flashing her snug fitting girlie panties for all the world to see, in a bid to out trollop the trollops.
When she realized that the long knives were out for her, Ivana finally came to life in the boardroom and had the gall to suggest that the hypereducated Kevin as 'not as smart as her,' and got a verbal spanking from Trump's underling Carolyn for being disrespectful to the Donald.
Ivana backpedaled and backpedaled and did just about everything else aside from dropping her skirt again, but it was to no avail: Trump axed her like a teenaged victim in a horror flick.
Sorry about the FONT, had caps on and posted before I realized what I was doing, it's Friday damn it, my mind is on the weekend! Thanks for bringing me back to reality!
Trump made a big issue last season of Troy not having a college education, therefore, I don't see Trump picking Sandy if she is one of the final two....Kevin has them all beat, education wise..
Her 'boy shorts' are even more unattractive seeing them the second time!
Carolyn is the most intriguing person on the show. She comes across as a "mom" most of the time but then she lashes out when you least expect it. I don't know why they keep the old guy on the show.
BTW, are any Apprentice watchers also viewing "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss", Fox's Apprentice spoof? It's been disappointing because the cast is all wrong (these are obviously a bunch of actors and models, not Ivy Leaguers and entreprenuers) but some of the situations these people are put into are funny - such as creating a fuzzy mascot for a toxic polluter and then selling it before third-graders.
So unless Jen or Sandy wins one of the project challenges and gets immunity, they will probably go.
Kelly has been the strongest overall player so far in my book with Kevin and Sandy a close second..
I'll have to see one of the episodes at the end.
I agree, I'll be surprised if it isn't Sandy-plus she's a local.
In the final 4, there is no project to manage.
They are all interviewed by a panel that Trump choses.
Then the panel give DT their feedback & he fires 2 of them. At least that's what they did last year/
Perhaps that given Sandy and Jen's success in ousTing the US National Debate champion that one of them could get past the laborious interview process without having to 'compare resumes' against the guys.
Cute... got it!
Jen will win, no question about it.
I made sure to double check before posting.
If one of the boys slips in the interviews, Sandy will be right there--she is closing the gap fast, IMO
Up until last night I thought Kelly had this locked up, but he really screwed up in the boardroom lastnight...Trump's expression was priceless and Kelly knew right away that he made a huge mistake...
The Vegas betting odds are for Kelly and Jen (and the funny thing is there was a spike several weeks ago for the two of them that made many to consider that insiders knew that Jen and Kelly were the final two). Thus, if that is indeed the case and Kelly and Jen are the last duo standing, the winner would probably be Kelly. He is definitely more goal oriented (and probably talented) than Jen. And he has the military rigor that denotes inherent responsibility. However Jen should not be counted out. She is quite attractive, and has the amazing knack to somehow manage to stealth her way through tight situations. Kelly should win based on wins alone (with Kevin coming in as number two), but if anyone can beat Kelly that person is Jen. As someone correctly said in the show, she has hypnotic powers and can FemBot her way through anything!
Q2: What about Ivana's performance last night?
Well, I loved it. I needed a cheap thrill to keep me up as i worked on some data-sets on my laptop, and seeing a professional act so uncouth was what the doc ordered. However i also gasped for 5 minutes straight! This lady is trying to get an executive position. And she goes ahead and strips to her inners? (Although she was correct in saying that you can find skimpier stuff in a gym, and it's true that they were not panties per se but more like bikini shorts, but it was still her inner wear and it was in the middle of the street). That was the most suicidal thing i have ever seen in a corporate type situation, even more insane than Omarossa (the crazy from the last season's show) lying her @$$ off! There was no way Ivana was going to survive the boardroom after that. Impossible. Especially once Caroline (the Lady exec. who helps Trump out) turned the heavy artillery on her.
Actually Caroline asked her a very good question. "What were you trying to sell?" And it was not chocolate that she was selling (she may have thought it was, but the guy who paid her 20 bucks was not paying for the bar of chocolate).
Ivana deserved to get fired for that. It is one thing to be sexy and alluring, and it is another to literally strip to your inners in the middle of WallStreet.
Anyways, all things being normal Kelly is going to win. He has the most distinguished winning record. The number two SHOULD be Kevin (who has the 2nd best record), followed by Sandy, and finally Jen (the FemBot) should come in last since not only does she contribute nothing but she has the persona of a marionette puppet!
That is how things SHOULD be.
How will they be? Well, I am almost certain Kevin (the 2nd strongest) and Sandy are going home next week, leaving Kelly and Jen in the final two.
And there is a big chance that Kelly might mess up seriously in the final episode (like Kwame did in the first season when he let Omarossa go bonkers when the fired people were made to work for the final two during the final task). Thus Jen could win by simply decisively trouncing Kelly during the final show. That might be enough to gain sufficient momentum to be declared the winner.
On the other hand the inertia Kelly has already amassed may be just too much and he could win it easily.
I somehow think there was more competition during last season's show since all of the final four were great competitors. All of them could have won. For this season Kelly is the true champ, Kevin is second only to Kelly, and the ladies are nowhere close to either of them (unlike last years show when the final lady standing could have won had she not lost the second to last task that left Kwame and Bill as the final two). This season Kelly is absolutely dominant.
However Jen should not be ruled out. She is extremely smart (though she does not show it .....which could be a very judicious stratagem on her part since she is extremely underestimated by everyone on the show), and she is alluring/hypnotic/mesmerizing! She could snatch victory right under Kelly's nose.
After all, Jen is obviously a go-getter and is quite accomplished (she did not make it on the show based on looks alone. She must ahve accomplsihed something with her life to be selected from the hundreds of thousands of applicants). Thus she is well-versed ....she just has not shined. But there is always a faint flicker of something about her ....she is a thinker, a schemer. And she has managed to make it to the final four while doing absolutely nothing! That is strategy. She may try to make a break for it.
Anyways, Ivana messed up pure and simple. You do not represent a company (that sells chocolate bars) by stripping to your skimpies in the middle of wallstreet. Maybe Virgin Cellphones (that have used risque adverts very successfully, but not candy bars).
Sandy is a good player, but she doesn't have the octane (or winnings) to match up against Kevin or Kelly (thus expect Sandy to be gone next week).
Kevin is really good, he is undefeated (as PM 2-0), and only Kelly has a higher winning streak than he does. And that is his problem ....Kelly has a higher winning streak than he. Keving goes out next week as well.
Kelly is the champion. He is undefeated (as PM 3-0) and he has a certain maturity and presence about him. He is assertive in a calm manner, and he can actually run things. He will be in the final two.
And then there is Jen. The dark horse. The one who is underestimated (and rightly so), but who may have pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. The one who is a hot shot legal professional and thus knows how to think several steps ahead. And the one who has managed to get to the final four without accomplishing anything (and losing every mission in which she was PM .....she has as bad a winning record as Ivana). Yet, she is the only one who is capable of beating Kelly in anyway. She may or may not win, but I'd bet she will be in the final two.
But we'll see. Just my opinions.
He hasn't had to really fight a boardroom battle yet. He's been able to be on winning teams, and don't forget that he 'won' the wedding dress task where Sandy did all of the work.
Last season, Amy seemed very strong, yet once she got involved in the boardroom her facade of bravado collapsed, and she ended up looking very weak. I'm not saying that this will happen to Kelly, but the similarities are there. The know-it-all attitude that gets worse with each task can build confidence within the group, but that means squat once they get in front of Trump. All things considered, I think Sandy is hurt by not having a degree, Jen just doesn't seem to do much, Kevin should have been fired by now, and Kelly is the best (though untested) candidate. This should be very interesting, and it's one of three weekly shows I watch on TV (Amazing Race and Simpson's being the others)
Sheesh! Not exactly leadership material, even if the old guy did like her flashing!!
Carolyn is getting on my nerves. She's the one that needs to go.
Jen graduated with honors from both Yale and Harvard. No dummy can do that...unless she "hypnotized" all of her professors!
