I wouldn't bet on that. I'm sure George has his lawyers looking that contract over right now. I bet Giambi isn't back, and he doesn't get paid.

Think Aaron Boone... The Yankees were very patient with Giambi all last year. They even carried his useless carcass on the postseason roster, when there was no chance he could produce. All the while, Giambi was lying to them about the nature of his condition and the reasons for it.

The Boss' patience is at an end.

No way the MLBPA lets him void the contract for this. No way. The MFY had the opportunity to check him out with their Doc before the trade went through. They chose not to (Gee, I wonder why). They MFY should forfeit their Giambi-aided division and ALCS titles.

There have been some cryptic comments from Yankees management this offseason about Giambi. I hope that means they're going to try to void his contract, or work out some kind of settlement with him to end his tenure with the Yankees.
