When you click on "browse" at the top, all subsections should appear to the right (above the the sidebar headlines) (Browse by Forum)

Select the forum you want BEFORE you click POST otherwise you will post to your current forum (which almost always is News/Activism).

Maybe we would all be spared misdirected vanities if posts went to Chat by default. Make News/Breaking etc. have to be specifically selected.

I've posted dozens of times over the last five years but never ran into this problem before. Probably because I very seldom post vanities.
