Shhh! SHE must not be invoked . . .
Right. Carry on then...loved Nicholas Cage once again, btw.
Boy ain't it funny how a crowd gathers around anyone living life without a net??
8^)
I'm not saying that their aren't "fallen away" Catholics highrer up in the Masons, but a devout Catholic isn't UNLESS the rules have changed.
Perhaps someday we can debate civil war generals--are you cw buff? I will concede the south ruled the cavalry!
That position is referred to as:"Worshipfull Master of the Lodge". I should know, I was Worshipfull Master of my lodge.
I KNOW of what I speak unless the Catholic Church has changed their laws in the last 40 years. Have they?
I don't know, I'm not Catholic.

Then you misspeak, or I misunderstood you. Your original post seemed to indicate that the Masons would not let a Catholic go higher than the first "Entered Apprentice" degree.
Are you now saying that the Catholic Church will let a Catholic become a first degree Mason? What is the point of that?
What does a Worshipful Mason do?
The term is Worshipfull Master and as apparently your grandfather never told you, the Worshipfull Master, is the leader of the lodge for that year.
I did a little research last year and found out that actually Catholics, even Popes used to be quite active in the lodge in ages past. It would seem that a falling out occured with one of the Popes years ago and he then issued an edict that no Catholic could join the Masons.
The Masons and their affiliate bodies, the Scottish Rite, York Rite, and the Shriners do many good deeds for the community, and are by no means nor do we pretend to be any sort of religion. Not at the first degree level or at any level of Free Masonry.
But you can't tell that to the odd assortment of Catholics and born again fundamentalists that come in this forum and attack the Masons on threads like this one.
If you are the "Worshipful Master" what do you worship?? Don't tell me that it's just a "title"....words DO mean things.
Oh Please! It is a title of respect, nothing more. I workship as do all Mason's the same God that you do.
Right......
