What do you make, besides turkey? My Italian relatives made lasagna or ravioli.
I make a terrific cheesecake and the recipe is available for all who ask!
Pun there, mah man. Bake away........
Thank you so much!!!!
I plan on trying it on Thursday!!!!
These oysters came out of the water yesterday, so I'm not worried about keeping some of them until Thursday. I love living so close to the water!!!
But I sure do understand why shucked oysters can run up to $12.00 a pint..........I lost track of how long it took hubby to shuck them!!!!
That's great - I've been woatching the buzzards around here lately, I've been seeing a lot of them lately. It's hunting season and there are a lot of critters moving around, so lots of road kill.
Friday after election day when hubby and I encountered a bunch of them in the road I wondered aloud if they were finishing of the carcass of the left. He nearly drove off the road!!!!!!
"Greenbean casserole is gross. I made it for my thankless former in-laws. They loved it, of course."
LOL thanks for the uplifting chuckle..
Try this one. It is about the tastiest thing you will ever eat. I only eat it on Thanksgiving because it is very rich and unhealthy.
Grind some oyster crackers and coat some select oysters with them. Saute the cracker coated oysters in real butter at a low temperature for about 10 minutes on a side (very low temperature)in a teflon fry pan. They will become golden brown and crusty on the outside. The cracker crumbs will soak up the butter, yielding an artery clogging treat.
These are 10 times better than deep fried oysters. They have been a family tradition in my family for over 150 years.
"I've already got the EPA disposal permit for all the grease a goose sheds when you cook it.
Freeze it if you have dogs...a spoon a day in their chow will make their coats thick and shiny.
Does anyone have a sweet potato casserole to share? Thank you.
See the oyster recipe at #105.
I love thrift shops, as you know.....half my glass collection comes from them!!!!
Last year, we had crab and champagne with pumpkin cheesecake!
It was AWESOME!
The year before, Prime Rib....
Don't know yet about this year.
We really do need an open season on deer for a year or two. I've seen 3 of them on the side of the road (hit by cars) this week alone.
I don't, sorry. We eat ours candied at Thanksgiving.
I might be able to help, though. Do you want them fresh or canned? Chunked or mashed?
I'll save a little for the cat - no dogs here though (although all the neighbors have pooches).
Me too! I have recreated my grandma's corning ware refrigerator set and my mom's cookbook. Honest, Mom had one.
Dang, I wished I had seen this post before I told hubs I would make pecan pie for thanksgiving..........I could have held off so you could send them to me!!! LOL!
Oh my..........I don't know what I would do if I had an allergy to nuts.
You want them, you can have them. I'll stick them in the mail on Monday. No one here likes pecan pie besides me.
6 to 8 large sweet potatoes
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 cup bourbon
3 tbsp melted butter
1/2 tsp minced fresh parsley
Nuke sweet potatoes in microwave or bake till done. Peel and slice crosswise then lengthwise. Cool and arrange in buttered casserole pan or dish. Combine remaining ingredients except parsley then pour over potatoes. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Garnish with parsley.
Snicker
The allergy is only pecans. I can eat peanuts, macadamias, cashews, etc.
