Only solution for NBA is to get rid of the guy who's the problem

But once again, Ron Artest interjected himself into a play that had no bearing on the outcome of the game, fouling Wallace from behind as he went up for the lay-up. I listened to ESPN analysts last night talk about how Artest's foul wasn't of the flagrant variety, but that's hardly the point. At no time during that possession did Artest make any kind of play on the basketball. What he did was purposefully shove Wallace in the back and take a swipe with his off hand at the back of his head.

But Artest should be thrown out of the league. How many chances can you give a guy who blatantly doesn't care about the consequences? Time after time we have seen this man suffer meltdowns both on and off the court. Throw him out. He doesn't want to be there anyway. Earlier this season Artest hinted to reporters that if the Pacers won the championship this season, he'd retire. Let the NBA help him out the door...

I quit watching the NBA many year's ago. There is no such thing as a 'Team' any more. That was personnified during the Olympics.

Yeah, lets get rid of Artest. But let's not lay a finger on the rapist out in LA; let's make sure the Golden State Strangler still gets to finish his career off in Minnesota---but lets make an example out of Ron Artest--for retaliating when a fan pegged him with a beer--after he'd already been battered by Ben Wallace.
I'm not surprised SI has taken this position. They've never passed up the chance to engage in a sports-related witchhunt before. It's the kind of thing that tides them over between stories about lesbian lovers who can't get joint memberships at their country clubs or gay high school QBs who were "brave" enough to come out to their teammates. ESCPECIALLY if the sports figure is from Indiana. I'm sure Rick Reilly and the rest still pleasure themselves on a nightly basis because Bob Knight was fired. SI is trash.
I couldn't agree more. It was Ron Artest who started this debacle in the first place--it might have not been a flagrant foul, but it was a dirty one nonetheless. The Pacers were up by 15 points w/ less than a minuite to go. Artest has proven time & time again that he has a MAJOR attitude problen, & besides, he said he wants to put more priority on his rap album than he does on the success of his team.
Kick him out of the NBA for good. These multi-million dollar sports figures need to be taught a lesson by tougher penalies from the NBA.

LOL! Yeah, poor innocent little Artest, who was minding his own business and didn't do anything except, like you said, just retaliating...sure it was against the wrong fan and a few more innocent bystanders to boot, hey awhile ago my car was broken was keyed so I attacked some people I saw with keys with a baseball bat, perfectly justifiable...
"Innocent bystanders"?? Like the Fat-Ass Piston fan who ran out on the floor for a confrontation?? Or maybe the guy who was sucker-punching him from behind?? Innocent bystanders like that??
At least the event that made them sit up and pay attention did not result in serious injuries.
