Dennis Miller and Recon Marines

Did anybody else see the Recon Marines on Dennis Miller?

I did. They are two great soldiers. I have been meaning to buy the book by the author, who was on with them. What is his name? Eric something? I am assuming he was an embedded reporter.

But I've got to give Miller credit...it was gutsy for him to do some "openings" for
Dubya during campaign appearances.

Doing that and being in the entertainment "bidness"...that's puts Miller
in the "Force Recon" for a patriotic entertainer!

I heard him say that he was asked to open for the president early in the campaign, but was not asked again later in the campaign.

I hadn't heard that.
Maybe he started slipping into that ill-advised Monday Night Football schtick.

Miller's a cut above the average comic, but some of the allusions in his
jokes are so obscure that his routine sometimes is more like a Trivial
Pursuit contest.
