My middle grandboy used to throw hissy fits. He didn't get what he wanted, but he still threw them anyway. We just walked over him lying on the floor screaming and flailing. Once PaPa told him that it was the best hissy fit he had ever seen him throw. Jeremiah sat up and looked at him as if the say...whoa, this isn't how its supposed to work. LOL
Tyler isn't given to fits, but Dawn sure was. I used to tell her in a very calm voice, "if you're going to act like that, go in your room where I don't have to listen to you." That usually resolved it pretty quickly. Somehow, the lack of an audience removes the motivation. I wonder how long it took her to realize that I could still hear her. LOL!
When my best friend had children, the decision was made to get rid of the tellie until the kids were in high school...and this has now been thirty years ago.
Both of them are outstanding young adults with their own kids now.
