Yes, maybe just for today, I would rather be in yankeeland. LOL
The police department just announced to not travel one of our major streets because it had not been plowed or sanded. The city can't do it because it is a state maintained street, and they are tied up on I-55 with a semi jack-knifed on the highway. Yes, our beaurcrats in action once again.

Q: Your last book is called "How to Talk to a Liberal." With which words? A: A baseball bat is best. But if you absolutely must use words, something like: "Grow up." My kind of Philly girl

Lots of family for Christmas ? We had our three sons with us in Utah, alas, but Dad can't keep up with them skiing. One of them is spending Christmas with his fiancee's family and won't be back until January. Our daughter is making a surprise visit on Christmas day, plus Linda's Mom and a bunch of friends.
We will be exhausted busy and hope to have lots of fun.
Will you be around and with family down there?

I think maybe she did.
Who wants to be a Millionaire was as much reality tv as I could take. I think I get enough reality, personally, but as Westy says..... what do I know?

It's a surprise to Linda and one of our sons who will be going overseas right after Christmas.
She couldn't get away with us to go to Utah, so she's making up for it on christmas day.

I watched two episodes of "Joe Millionaire" just to see what all the hype was about. I was, frankly, appalled. That's all the reality show garbage I've watched. Sometimes I don't think my momma thinks she raised me right. I enjoy a couple of glasses of wine, I watch movies she doesn't approve of, like the Schwarznegger stuff, and I actually like the Sopranos on HBO. She finds things like that to be unaccaptable. I try, but I have my faults!

That will be wonderful for LL!
My sister has told me that she and her family are going to drive to mom's (in southern Idaho) from their place in northern Idaho. It will be a surprise, I hope they do it. We aren't going to my mom's this year, since my husband couldn't get any extra time off for Christmas this year, it's an 11 hour drive. And flying during the holidays is just such a trial. At least I saw my mom three times this year, even if one of those times was to take care of her for a few days after surgery. She's doing very well, btw.

I always was kind of a wild child. I know my mother (and my father) had moments of despair, especially when I was a teenager. Whew. I've actually mellowed out considerably. For instance, I don't jump out of airplanes anymore.

Mine wasn't tame, probably a few things that would disqualify me from office (unless, of course, I ran as a Demorat). I don't think wild childhoods disqualify us once and for all.
It's when your kids go through it that you start to realize maybe it wasn't the greatest idea to be wild......
