Check our local paper. Of course, most real estate listings are not in the paper, but it will give you an idea. Besides what's in the classifieds, there's another link at the top of the page that says "Homes." It gives you a couple more area links. The prices here would probably make the average California resident cry.

Our small town got around the problem by donating the nativity scene to a private group about twenty years ago, which displays it in the town park (a central feature of the town btw). It is the only scene there, right at the large gazebo. It is beautiful, lit and visited by a lot of families.
as daughter is still in college
We discovered too late that liberal indoctrination is heaviest on young females, plus we weren't aware just how bad it had infilitrated all colleges......FYI

Helllllloooooo! I'm just arriving, and I'm late. Something is wrong with my life, as I used to get up and post when Mo went to bed.
Have been trying to set up my vid card with my new monitor.. Guess what? I give up, and the hell with it!
I think Al wants to take a drive up the Pine Island/Punta Gorda way today. I'll grab my camera if we do. I guess it's still pretty unlivable up there in some places.

You silly boy, I could never fit under a window box, with or without a seat.
Why would I want to, when I can keep a better check on you and others with my Birdies? Didn't your Mother ever have Birdies to keep and eye on you?
To: sweetliberty
We've been doing the same thing for years, particularly if someone says "Happy Holidays" to us we return it with "well....Merry Christmas".
It's always received warmly.
I'm convinced it's social intimidation and that standing up to it is very important. Good job there Sweets!

We have a huge county park here with a sizable lake. Every Christmas, the county supplies the electricity and anyone can put up decorations. Some are quite small as in the memorials to someone deceased. Some are quite elaborate such as the floating ones on the lake. Folks drive for miles to take the tour. The only one that offends me is one the gay/lesbian organization on campus puts up. Why can't they just leave Christmas alone in the politicking?
To: Mo1
I have a heartfelt pity for you, but good luck if you're forced into it.

Have you young ladies had your exercise yet this morning?
Because Ahhhhhhhhhhh fold! ;)

Something is wrong with my life, as I used to get up and post when Mo went to bed. LOL I think yall are both getting more sleep. I spent the night at the grandkids last night so that their mom could go to a Christmas office party. The two year old woke up before daylight wanting his breakfast. I swooped him up and put him on the sofa beside me. He went back to sleep but snored in my ear and elbowed me the rest of the night. I need a nap.
To: Conservababe
What in the world would a gay/lesbian organization put up as a decoration?
Not sure I want to know.......

Oh, it just moderate display of lights. But, every display has a sign denoting who put it up, whether an individual, organization, church or business. And theirs has a big sign with "Seasons Greetings from Gay/Lesbian Club, Semo". Ugh

"Still trying to get my act together here and get up enough nerve to head out to the mall and look for Christmas prensents for my inlaws." If I have to go to the mall at all again, it will be the Saturday right before Christmas because that is when I will be in Little Rock to pick Dawn and Tyler up at the airport. I expect I will talk myself out of thinking I really need anything from the mall though. The one thing I must make sure I get is Dawn's Lord of the Rings gift set. I hope I can find it up here before then though. I shudder to think what it would be like in the mall the Saturday right before Christmas. Yikes! That would be worse than running into Darks AND Swervie in Nully's basement!

"I swooped him up and put him on the sofa beside me. He went back to sleep but snored in my ear and elbowed me the rest of the night. I need a nap." LOL! I remember those days. When Tyler lived with me, he would get up and come crawl in bed with me every morning. Sometimes he'd go back to sleep and sometimes he wouldn't.
