I really do appreciate being able to talk about some of these things here, because if I didn't, I would explode. Like Babe said, we're like family here. Nermal's empathy with my concerns goes only so far. If he could talk he'd tell me to get over it and get him some groceries. LOL!
Well, just as long as Carly is supervising and the fire extinguisher is handy, you should be alright.
Libby, you can always rant to me or us. I once advised you to distance yourself from your children clients. I was naive. I did not realize that you had the children sitting in your own office until you found a placement for them. So, essentially, the system in your state makes you their foster Mom. And I understand how you cannot help but be affected by their pain.
For the record, I would like to tell you that I was in the same position as some of your kids, in my childhood...except without social service and the law to help.
Forgot to flag you...
Some vets warn a rabies shot could cause cancer in animals. Jennifer Jordan reports.

We had a very large group for a seated Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's house. Afterwards all the serving dishes were still on the buffet table, just in case. LOL When the crowd thinned out a bit, someone let my sister's 2 dogs back inside. Pretty soon, I noticed one of them, the most adorable little fellow you've ever seen, a "rescued" mixed breed, walking around the table, sniffing and eyeing the leftover turkey. The next time I looked in that direction, he was tiptoeing on his hind feet with his little front paws barely touching the table's edge, still focused on the turkey. I scolded him and made him get down, so, then, he just sat there looking at the table and back at me, wiggling and moaning. LOL. About a minute later I heard everyone in the sunroom laughing... that little rascal had snatched a turkey leg from the platter and made a dash for it. LOL He was toooo cute and mighty proud of himself and his trophy.
"Ebersol has been head of NBC Sports for nearly 15 years, and is perhaps best known for his love of the Olympics, which are broadcast on the network. He and his two sons, Charles and Edward, were flying home from California, where the older son's school, Notre Dame, played a football game Saturday against Southern California. Another Ebersol son, 18-year-old Willie, is a freshman at USC."
The family flew to Colorado, where they have a home, to drop off Ebersol's wife, Susan Saint James, an actress who starred in the 1980s television series "Kate and Allie." Then, Ebersol and the two sons were headed to drop off Charles at school in South Bend, Ind.
The tension level is reaching saturation point in the office. We are down to 3 workers, and we all have too many cases. The investigator and investigative supervisor help when they can, but they don't do casework, then we have 2 aides. That's it. The aides are invaluable in helping with transportation, visitations and a lot of the detail kind of stuff like coordinating Christmas gift information and planning the Christmas party, distributing food at Thanksgiving, helping foster parents with paperwork, keeping track of doctor's appointments and things like that. I have talked to workers in other counties who have trouble managing 5-7 cases. I have the smallest caseload of the 3 of us, and I have 17 I believe (last time I had time to check).
I think the hardest part of this case is having to be civil to the parents, knowing what they have subjected these children to, and working towards reuniting them with the children. The guy is only father to the youngest child. The father of the oldest 2 is a registered sex offender, and she married him knowing that. I also learned today that the mom broke the 6 year old's leg when she was 9 months old. The baby (3 mos old) has 3 rib fractures and has to be taken back to Children's Hospital on Thursday for a head scan to check for possible bleeding.
I'm sorry to hear that you had some of those kinds of problems at home. I don't want to pry, but if you care to talk about it, you can FReepmail me.
fest = feast
Great, and I just got a rabies vac..
*sigh*
Thanks, I'll hang onto that for others to see.
This little fellow had never done anything like that before either... He is a very mild mannered, gentle dog but he was absolutely determined to help himself that day. LOL We had no idea he could even stretch that far. LOL Poor little guy... we took it away from him, then pulled the meat off the bone and gave it to him the next day. It wouldn't have surprised us had it been her other dog. She is a terrier that is not only very fiesty but she can jump really high and is terribly "protective" about her food. LOL.
speaking of food.... I best be doing sumpin about that tonight and real soon. LOL. See ya :)
OMG!! I gotta tell my BIL and sister that. They think that the four of us should buy property in Puerta Vallarta or Ixtapa. That situation you just described is really terrible. I thought Vincente Fox was supposed to be more of a modernist. Looks like Mexican is mexican is mexican huh? They make the rules to fit the situation and you don't want to end up in one of their jails.
But if your married to a Mexican then you could own property right Westy? I suppose it wouldn't be allowed to be a joint tenancy ownership and of course if the Mexican part of the couple passed away, the poor spouse would probably have to give up the property and walk away from it.
.....Westy....
Resty, I am referring to the "current crop" of Quebecers who have been heavily influenced by a rebellious and greedy Separatist party. These separatists have caused untold misery and cost the rest of us billions of dollars. I know there are some very very nice folks from Quebec. We have some dear clients who originated from there and nicer folk you couldn't hope to meet. BUT there has been a very destructive movement going on in that Province for several decades now. I hope this explains my comment. It is not meant to broad brush the entire population!!
What a lovely picture nully. Both the girl and the kitty. Simply lovely.
.....Westy....
Well, just to be on the safe side, don't bite anybody!
