you hit the nail on the head. I use to listen to "Born in the USA" again and again and again. Whenever I heard that song I use to feel so much pride. I use to think any man who would sing a song like that with that kind of emotion knew the value of having srong leaders like Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. Now this year, to find out what he really feels and to find out that he's just another left wing radical filled with hate. I can never listen to "Born in the USA" again and feel the way I use to. I hope the boss is happy with what he did. I'm sure I'm not the only one this year to learn that his music was all full of crap.

I can't think of a raunchier, hoarser, nastier, 5 seconds of nasal puke sounds besides Seger and Chevy commercials.  Sorry, don't mean to offend.  But, believe it or not, "Leave It To Beaver" is reality.  Morality matters, ask the President if you don't believe me.

Man, the song was taken out contest by President Reagan. It is in anti-american song. The chorus is meant to be sarcastic.

If you read the lyrics, it basically says: My country does all this real bad bad bad things too me. not my fault, don't blame. I was bored in middle America. I was a stupid kid, not my fault. I went to Vietnam. It closed the factory. I'm going nowhere in life. I was bornin the U.S.A. Yeah!

Listen to the version on TRACKS, it's more evident there.

It was meant to be on the NEBRASKA album orginally.

I liked his old album "The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle"...

Wild Billy's Circus Story was a great song/story

It had been well know for over twenty years that "Born in the USA" was not a patriotic song.
