A directory of cell phone numbers will be published soon. This opens the door to solicitors calling our cell phones using up our minutes.
The Federal Trade Commission has set up a do not call list. You must call FROM the number you wish to register, or go to their website listed above to be included on the do not call list.
The number is 1-888-382-1222 http://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
Not to sound cynical, but where did you get this information? Sounds like an urban legend.
Sounds like a good way to get a cell phone listing to me.
I thought I read where it is illegal to make unsolicited calls to cell phones. Maybe this is a scam.

Good point. It's like when you get spammed e-mail with the "click here to be removed from our list" message at the end. NEVER click on that. All that does is let them know that it's a live e-mail address.
I just went to the website. It looks like they're harvesting numbers to me.
