As a former SDS member, I can tell you this is the marching order in the offensive against Bush. The anti-war movement is the best way they can think of to overthrow him, or if not, to demonize and marginalize not only him but his supporters.
Number one thing that you can do is to shape opinion in support of the Iraqi liberation. Use language, use words like liberation and write to the editors of papers, those of you who write for a living, start columns.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. The playbook is already out there and it hasn't changed. What will change is our reaction to it.
Decades after SDS held its first organizational meeting in Ann Arbor I was a student at the University of Michigan. I rejected all they taught and have never looked back. That is no longer good enough, what the left knows that we must learn, is to keep fighting. Now my question is how?
We may hold the highest office in the land but we don't own the airwaves, the print media, the education system, etc. etc. etc. How are we organized to react?
So, will the Bush Whitehouse have the cajones to enforce the rule of law and indict, convict and imprison those guilty of treason and sedition? The Nixon Whitehouse did not do these things and one of those traitors just almost won the Presidency.
