Decades after SDS held its first organizational meeting in Ann Arbor I was a student at the University of Michigan. I rejected all they taught and have never looked back. That is no longer good enough, what the left knows that we must learn, is to keep fighting. Now my question is how?
We may hold the highest office in the land but we don't own the airwaves, the print media, the education system, etc. etc. etc. How are we organized to react?
Letters to the editor - it's pretty much standard that they are printed, no matter how liberal the paper...that's one avenue.
support our avenues of information like Hannity, Rush, FOX...
don't turn on seeBS, don't watch Matthews, etc...let the ratings go down. You can keep up with their shenanigans on line - without giving them a "listener" on the station. Write to the advertisers of their shows and complain...they listen.
Stay informed via net news and FR ;o)
"share"...most people don't have/take time to be informed and will believe whatever they hear or read. Be ready with facts to refute, in a non-confrontational way...
be involved with your local republican clubs...
just some suggestions
We aren't at this point in time.
The counterculture railed against the administration and all that America represented using the military/industrial complex as the base of protest. We certainly do not have the mechanisms or organization that the socialists had during that period. The socialists had already been organized for a decade prior to the sixties.
We do have the internet and talk radio. My thoughts would be since we can't demonstrate, the next thing would be to take down the purveyors of ideas, i.e., Chris Matthews. If we could get a coordinated campaign going, we probably could.
