I say change the flag.
Member of GA FReepers.
Didn't the GOP governor of GA promise during the campaign 2 yrs ago to let the people vote on keeping the old flag? And didn't he then promptly break that promise?
The idea that there is only one valid view about the confederate battle flag -- as being an absolute symbol of slavery, racism, and white supremacy -- is a canard, a leftwing myth, a PC piece of garbage...

GA Flag
I say change.
While Sonny didn't carry through on his promise on the flag vote, I have no problem with the current flag. It is actually should be more insulting to the politically correct crowd than the 1956 flag (pointing out that they were too stupid to see it as a Confederate image), and it is based upon the traditional Georgia flags, but with greater fidelity to the First National:
See the 1879 flag: http://www.sos.state.ga.us/museum/html/georgia_state_flag_1879_1902.htm
the 1906 flag:

the 1920 flag:

and the 1902 flag:

Let the chips fall where they may.
Change the flag to current one. It is, by far, the best looking of all GA flags!
No, it is a symbol of the massive cave-in to the race hustlers.
We need to come to a decision somehow on the flag on our state page. People are unsubscribing, bickering etc.
In all truth, it should be the official flag. If it bothers people that much, maybe it'll motivate them to do something about it in the next gubernatorial race.
Its silly not to have our current state flag.
Please assist us on this. On the state board, one of our own offered to do the .gif. Could we please have some input so we can put this behind us?
Thanks for your time.
I don't know that it really represents unity as Georgians did not get to vote on the old flag. I really don't have a preference for the flag on FR. However, I would have voted for the '56 flag on the ballot. I never believed that it represented some racial oppression.
