DUDES!
"Dude" is an iconic word for my generation. I totally love the use of this word when speaking heartfelt. It's pure and sincere and can be used to show kinship even when you aren't agreeing with someone. Stop givin' him a hard time.
It makes me smile, Dude!!!
Sort of like the "Oh Dude", video. The one were the F-16 drops a 500 pound bomb on a gaggle of armed jihadies heading to attack us troops. The backseater or pilot upon seeing the bodies flying from the smoke of the explosion exclaims "Oh Dude". Everyone I've shown it to cracks up at that point.
