Geez, that month I spent with a breakaway sect of the Seventh Day Adventists in Washington Heights was really an adventure. It just wasn't for me, though. Know what I mean?
They were all like: "You must abstain from impure acts." And I was kind of skeptical initially. Then, they came back with: "Well, it's not like your whack game is getting any play in the first place. Just give it up already!" And I was all like: "Screw you buddy! I still have FreeRepublic."
Thanks for being there, guys!

It's pretty good.
I think they've recently made a feature-film of it.

I know this is a very roundabout way of answering your question, but I haven't thought of a better one yet.
Sorry.
Comments#121 and 166 explain the origins of my odd screen name name.
Kind of.

This is a slightly circuitous way of answering your question, but I haven't thought of a better one yet. Sorry.

Sorry for the tardy reply.
I explain the etymology of my odd handle-kind of convoluted-in the posts up-thread.
Basically, it's a conflation of a Saturday Night Live skit and a very bizarre, comic novel written by a writer from Park Slope.

OK. I get the "Do not dub me Shapka" part.
But what was the "bro-ham" SNL skit about?

It was really an aside.
Him and another cast member played these two Turkish talk show hosts-who were sort of modeled after the characters played by Dan Ackroyed and Steve Martin during the 1970s, i.e. the "wild and crazy guys," who kept referring to each other as "broham."
I thought it was kind of funny at the time.

Yeah, Steve Martin was probably one of that show's funniest cast members.
It's a shame to see how much the quality of SNL has declined over the years.
The last period when it was relatively entertaining ended when Norm MacDonald left.
