Sorry folks, I don't think this is over

Posted on 11/03/2004 7:34:57 PM PST by Capitalism2003

I don't believe the dems will give us so easily. Kerry may have conceded, but it means NOTHING legally. His army of 20,000 lawyers did not evaporate. They are still in Ohio, and you can bet they will be doing everything possible to "find" kerry 130,000 out of those 200,000 provisional ballots. They will find a sympathetic liberal judge that orders all of them to be counted (rather than the 10-20% that are traditionally valid), and they may get the electors for Kerry. If this happens, the concession was irrelevant and Kerry will be President. I'm praying our side isn't getting complacent. The left wing activists are absolutely rabid now. They have everything invested in this election, financially and emotionally...and they won't be going quietly. I hope the Bush team isn't getting complacent. They need to keep up the fight until the electors finalize the election next month.

Look at the "Draft" bill, how twisted that one came down the pike...

Correct. The Dems of the Watergate era had almost a 2-1 advantage in both houses and no media opposition. Ain't like that anymore. That would be suicide for their already broken party.

Or as Joey Tribiani would say, "It's a moo point. It's like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter" (insert laugh track here...)

my money is on the impeachment the dem's are gonna bring against the President this term.

Considering that Republicans control both houses of congress, how do you figure that articles of impeachment are going to be advanced?

"find" kerry 130,000 out of those 200,000 provisional ballots

What is more he would have to find a differential gain of 130,000. That would take more than 130,000 Kerry votes (which would only mean a differential gain of 130,000 - 70,000 = 60,000). Kerry would sooner expect to win the Powerball lotto.

"my money is on the impeachment the dem's are gonna bring against the President this term."

Impeachment takes a majority of the house, and before that a majority of a committee assembled by the Republican majority.

I agree, they will never forgive us for what Bill Clinton "got caught doing".
When you accuse one of them for something it's always well so and so did it too.....So they will try impeachment but don't know how far they can get with the folks we have in the House of Rep. Just more whining and making life miserable if we and the Bush family lets them.

Okay, let me think about that for a second . . .

. . . no, it's still over. 135,000 votes is far too many to come up with when there are less than 200,000 unaccounted for. And don't take my word for it: If there was a mathematical possibility of Kerry prevailing, he wouldn't have conceded.

Doesn't matter. Kerry's on record conceding. The president has accepted.

We have other battles to deal with now. After the War on terror another huge task is reaching those 50 million who believe that America is not their home any longer. The generation that knows no boundaries and need to realize that that is what have made and kept America great. One of the greatest mandates would be that America values every human life and we honor marriage being defined as 1 man, 1 woman.

Does anyone remember when Gore conceded? My son swears it was right after the election and then he came back to challenge it. I don't remember that.

I don't believe the Clinton's will allow for sKerry to challenge.

For Kerry to get a net 130K increase, 200,000 ballots would have to break for him by more than 80%. Not gonna happen.

It has been a tough, tough race. Please take a short time to enjoy it.

There are more battles ahead, but let's celebrate our convincing victory first.

He conceded on the phone to Bush, but not publicly.
