We're having waffles! Not the fancy yeast-risen kind that I like best, just the self-rising flour pancake recipe I always use. I just cook it in the waffle maker because I don't want to dirty up a pan. But the kids think they're a real treat.

1 C self-rising flour
1 C whole milk
1 large egg
1 heaping Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp oil

Whir it up and cook! Can be whipped up the night before even and stuck in the fridge.

We had oatmeal this morning. Irish oatmeal made with a half-pint of cream. It was vey good with honey.

We didn't have any eggs. :(

I've been occasionally making sourdough flapjacks. I use the recipe you had, but use milk instead of water - and my starter is older now and doesn't really have any yeast flavor to it.

Makes wonderful flapjacks!
