I've had a very hard time. I was used to being on the low carb high fat diet...had cream on my cereal, remember that? While on that diet, I rarely experienced being ravenously hungry. It was great. No peaks and valleys with my blood sugar.

Then when I went low fat, I had to increase my carbs to compensate, which threw me back into the blood sugar swings, I started having those "I'm starving!" feelings again and next thing you know, I've gained 5 pounds back.

Now, I've discovered I can make a kind of paste out of almonds and mix in some canola oil and eat it on a slice of low-carb bread. It's low carb, but high in the monounsaturated "good" fat that lowers LDL and raises HDL. I eat it as a snack and it sticks with me.

Natural peanut butter in small doses works for me! I'll eat some off a spoon sometimes as a snack...not a lot, but it doesn't take a lot.
