Natural peanut butter in small doses works for me! I'll eat some off a spoon sometimes as a snack...not a lot, but it doesn't take a lot.
Do they ad oil to it or just the peanut oil? The almond paste I make is too thick so I add the canola. Canola and olive oils actually boost your good cholesterol. Vegetable, soybean and other oils help lower your bad cholesterol, but also lower your good.
