Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I see that now, but I thought you'd be the last to say so 2J!
I've been holding ecurbh back since I posted it!
The boys got up early today...we've already got one subject done! (Bible...they just watch the video-taped class, don't have curriculum to do. They watch it during breakfast.)
It jump-starts our day!
We abandoned Bible, Handwriting and Heritage Studies for two weeks before the election...we were too busy! Now we're getting back into the swing of things. I figured at the time, Heritage Studies was being covered in real-life, and Bible was ok to put on hold because we had the proverbial "Ox in the ditch."
Blab blab blab.
Eating cabbage?
Heh!!
Matthew's throat is sore. Sigh.
I don't think he wants to get back into Heritage classes yet.
Amazingly, he likes his Heritage studies! Been studying WWI and I checked out the movie Sgt. York from the library. Pointed out that Sgt. York was an All American, just like the Renegade Chaplain. Also, checked out this book, which he seems to have really gotten in to, sat up late reading it last night.
G'mornin'!
Cool sweatshirt, Hair! I wish I got to wear stuff like that more often, but most of my sweaters are 5 years old and still look brand new because they're only worn once or twice a year. LOL!
2J - I'll gladly take Heritage classes instead of being here at work. ;-D
Matthew's piled up on the couch with his lap desk doing school. I made him some rice cooked in milk, then mixed butter and cinnamon sugar in it...it's warm and soothing. Also a mug of warm milk.
He has never complained of a sore throat before in his life, can you believe it?? Ear infections, yes, but never a sore throat.
At least he's not throwing up ;~D
LOL!! Whew!
Usually it's Joshua that gets the stomach bug! Matthew gets sinus infections now and then, but never a sore throat! Really, I've been pretty lucky...they haven't been sick in a long time.
Seems like they have several episodes of being sick at a time, though...hope this isn't going to start a trend.
Last time Matthew was sick was when he had that bite on his neck...
Poor baby!
But I'm with Hair on this one...better than a stomach bug any day of the week!
Usually the jedis split up and Matthew does his classes in the computer room until Joshua gets finished with his classes which are done in the living room. After Joshua gets done, Matthew does the rest of his classes in the living room! (Does that make ANY sense?)
But today, Matthew is on the couch, so we're alternating classes. Joshua is doing his math class and Matthew is playing a computer game.
A little picture of what it's like today at my house! LOL It's pretty peaceful...
The other day, the postlady came to the door with a package and while I was signing for it, Joshua could be heard in the living room "answering" his math teacher's questions! I told the lady, "No, you're a witness! My kids do classes during the day!" She laughed and said "I'll be your witness!"
*grinning*
You're a very blessed woman, 2J!
I'll be back later, payrolls are pouring in!
:-)
I've got a real issue with people not believing me. I just assume people think I'm lying all the time! I'm all the time trying to convince people of stuff that doesn't really matter! LOL Like the choppers circling my house...you have no idea how pleased I was the neighbor finally saw it!
So even though I don't have to prove to anyone that I'm homeschooling...I mean, it's obvious...Joshua is sounding out words in the grocery store and what with Matthew doing well in Latin...I STILL feel like "Oh, GOOD! The postlady saw us doing homeschool...she believes me!" LOL
The postlady loves me, cause I make her pumpkin bread every year. I'm thinking of doing it again, but doing it at Steve's office in the evening...they have an oven.
Good morning all!
Still no hard drive. It had better come today. Grr! I'm getting way behind on my word count. Best Buy was able to salvage some of my stuff but I don't know what yet.
Ugh...remember when mine crashed? During Entmoot? Had to keep up on the lime green monstrocity?
What a nightmare.
Yeah, but you had a backup! And until I get a hard drive I can't even find out what I lost. All my music, yes, but that's mostly recoverable. I may have lost every half-finished story I started in the last eight months. (Right, it's my fault, I know to backup up) as well as half a semester project in AI....
All I would have really lost that would have been BAD is my photos...many of when Joshua was a tiny baby.
I have them on disk now.
