Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Think you are right, Jen.
However, Farragut should have said it the way I did!

Yep...it's gonna be a great Christmas!
So what if my brake light keeps coming on! Full speed ahead!

So what if my brake light keeps coming on! Aaaack! You're riding without brakes?!

I'm roasting some pork right now in said fixed oven. Jedis are listening to the Cinnamon Bear.
Joshua just wandered in here and spelled "T-O-O-T!" to me for some reason...he's enjoying knowing how to spell things and likes to spell scandalous things to me to see my expression (which of course I'm always happy to oblige and react appropriately.) LOL

They seem to work just fine...I imagine they're getting a little thin and the sensor is letting me know. I'll get 'em looked at after Christmas.

GAH! I let the brake light come on once in a car and got yelled at so bad!
Get it checked out!

I've got a chicken to roast, but it'll wait until tomorrow.
To: JenB
This one just comes on for a split second and then turns off. I don't think it's made up it's mind yet. :-)

I have a ham to cook tomorrow.
Mmmm...ham...
I'm gonna do it the way Dad usually does, which is to boil it with some vinegar and garlic in the water for a portion of the cooking time, and then bake it the rest of the way. It turns out sooooooo good!

Ya know, of allll the things in a car that could go bad...brakes have to be on the top of the list of things-you-really-really-don't-wanna-be-without.

I am in kind of a good mood now, right before Christmas, too.
It's a nice time of year, eveyone's thinking of someone else, for a change, even I am doing that.

I got this sweatshirt at the thrift store...it's hysterical. Gotta duck on it that says "Rudolph the rednosed rainduck" By a guy named John Baron.
The cartoon looks familiar, but I can't place it...

Yeah...you don't want to have to rely on the Flintstone Braking System.

It really doesn't work as well with modern vehicles, for one.
The floor kinda makes it tricky.

I am much less worried about my brakes suddenly failing in my little car. It's so small, I figure the handbrake and careful maneuvering would probably get me out of trouble. When I drove the family SUVs, I worried all the time.

Here's the duck...

The shirt is marked 1985...so it's an old sweatshirt. But I love it. This duck has what looks like sticks taped to it's head with tape and a red Christmas tree ornament taped to it's bill! It has the most perplexed look on it's face!
It just makes me laugh every time I look at it.
