Oh, who knows. I might, but I thought I'd hear back Saturday night. If it's not too late after I get home and go pick up my hard drive, I'll stop at Best Buy and ask 'em.

Oh, Okay, I'll just be more careful and review before hitting post.

Hi, ecurbh!

8 is not too young for The Hobbit IMO.

Too old?

Nah!

I'm older than you and I still read The Hobbit :0)

I'm older than that now! But I was mostly just jokin'...twisting his question the other way. ;-)

I still have copies of LOTS of the books I liked when I was little, and I still read them on occasion.

Well...if it makes you feel any better, I think several of us are rather behind at the moment. We'll just have to do some cheering each other on, I guess!

But... if the restoration doesn't work, I lose all my music, my half-completed novel that might have actually been workable... the NaNo story is almost the least of it.

It's the least we can do, though!

I really do hope it all comes through for ya.

Heh...I wish I had more of those! I really don't have many little kid books...most of those were destroyed completely and utterly, and are hard to find in print anymore.

But I do have copies of the chapter books I liked. Not the originals...but then we got a lot from the library anyway and I didn't even have them back then.

I'd love to find copies of some of those little kid books, though. Not necessarily golden books. Some of them were pretty obscure, like "The Pumpkin Giant" - that was awesome! I also liked books like Tiki Tiki Tembo that ARE still in print. One day I'll pick 'em up again...

So do I. But I'm not going to let a major disaster stop me from doing NaNo!

I like little-kid books too... Especially "Tiki Tiki Tembo". Listening to it for, what, 15 years does that to you. And the little guy still likes it... but they're growing up... middle bothers are about to the science fiction stage. Too bad the Heinlein collection moved to Colorado with me.

Not to make light of a serious situation, but...

Wanna borrow a fountain pen? ;-)

I'm still doing a good portion of my writing by hand first and then transcribing. It's handy sometimes...but if I had a really, really lightweight and rugged option with plenty o' battery life that let me type, I'd be in heaven. I'd probably still do a lot of writing just because I like to...but it isn't nearly as fast, no matter how you look at it.

Unfortunately, usually you have to pick one or two options to the detriment of others, and I can't afford anything at all anyway...but someday, maybe.
