The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Is it paid for? A hundred of two here and there is less to pay than most car payments. That is what I tell myself when the battlecrusier needs refit. Which is not often. That reminds me I still need to swap that oil... :P

You already won when you spun around and hit that bush. It could have happened here:

Don't let it get ya down. Flying off the road and getting off with the cost of an alignment is still pretty good.

I JUST paid it off.

But I haven't recovered from that, either.

Ick. Would have to have all this hit right before Christmas.

Yeah, and I bet she don't got a hammer and a flotation device under the seat neither.

Back later.

Yeah! LOL It's hysterical. He calls you "man" and calls money "bread". It's a riot. This guy died in 1977.

I dunno, but a friend of his says he saw him roller-coastering among the mountaintops shortly after he died.

I am not even kidding...

MMM, chili leftovers. I think that is what I'll have for lunch.

2j, did you see the thread on Latin this mornin? I thought of you and the boys. At my high school, Latin was offered, though I never took it. There was a time when I had really regretted not taking it. The thing is that Latin is THE language for science and medicine.

It's a BEAUTIFUL tree, g'nad!

Ours is artificial. I have always preferred a real tree. Next year we hope to get one.

Yeah...apparently the author of the book died in 1977 and his wife put that about the roller coaster in as a PPPS. LOL I just assumed the guy that saw him after he was dead was smokin' something.

Anyway, it really is the most informative book, and very entertaining to read.
