Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Morning. I really, really, really, really hate Mondays. But this is the last of the truly-hateful Mondays.
The question is whether I will be permitted to sleep before Tuesday.

That would be the thing to do, I imagine...even just hitting a bad pot hole can through your car out of alignment...I don't think it costs all that much...

I wonder just HOW much.
I suppose I can wait until after Christmas, but I'm sure it's affecting my gas milage. If it really wasn't much at all to have done, it might outweigh that cost...

Ah yes...tonight is the night your friends wanted to pull an all-nighter, isn't it?
Could I have fit any more nights in that sentence?

I don't know...I had mine done a couple of years back, but I also had to have the rack and pinion replaced so it cost an everlovin' fortune. I don't know how much it costs alone...
I tend to hit curbs in this van...BAM! Cringe...

Yeah. I told them they're all nuts. I don't do all-nighters. But... bleah. Just because they don't know what they're doing (I don't know what they're doing, either) they want me to suffer.
Easy for them to say!

He's current on his tetanus? Thanks for reminding me to double check. We talked about that Saturday and it slipped my mind.
I'm pretty sure he was current and didn't have to have one for Brazil. But I'll double check.
It's healing nicely, but there's no need to take chances.

I suppose I can wait until after Christmas, but I'm sure it's affecting my gas milage. If it really wasn't much at all to have done, it might outweigh that cost... Rosie, if your car is out of alignment, you need to have it taken care of as soon as possible.
Among other things, you'll run the risk of ruining your tires. Then you'd have the expense of alignment and new tires.
To: Corin Stormhands
*sigh*
Do you have any idea how much it costs?

To: RosieCotton
Off the top of my head, no. We usually have it done when we're having another service done.
But, estimates are free.
To: Corin Stormhands
True. Usually, anyway.
But gosh...I can't imagine it being less than sixty or seventy dollars.
It's not fair.

To: RosieCotton
I know it's not fair.
But preventive maintenance will save you big bucks in the future.
Ask your Dad if he knows of a reliable place to take it.

Good morning everyone.... Rosie I sure hope your alignment trouble isn't too much. Ask for help from Dad if you can, even on where to take it.

I'll call, I'll call. I know somewhere I can take it. It's just that...I just spent over two hundred on a windshield.
Grrrrrr...I can't win. Never.

All that is true but only IF it is out of alignment. It was a rear tire that went out, right? There is no way to be sure it is out of alignment and if you take it in they will probably tell you it needs fixed anyway. Like the man said, find a reliable place.
