Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
No Buffett tonight. It's not that sort of night.
Just did some Def Leppard: Pyromania. Now doing some Scorpions: The Zoo.
I'm in a Metal sort of mood tonight.
Now a little Sammy Hagar. "There's only one way to rock".
Gawd... Is this a great country or what?
Did I mention the @$##@ person who tried to update Office (and then thought the solution to his problems was obviously SP2?) was a professor? Gah...
The secretary is recieving a department computer to use at home. Since it won't be under our care, it will develop virii, so I have to teach her about updating.... Ad-aware... and "don't open that attatchment!" stuff. However she apparently only has a modem so the amount of trouble she can get into is limited...
Got our Jimmy Buffett/Billy Joel/James Taylor playlist on shuffle. BJ's "Leningrad" on now.
I'm really getting into the Active Directory lately, and lovin' it. It's a fine thing for remote users. Can force firewalls and antivirus b34 allowing access to the knotwork.
Not running a corporate approved antivirii system? Okey dokey... no touchy my hardware...
I'm lovin' it.
Oooppps... gotta go... some AC/DC goin' on now...
Evenin' folks. Winding down here.
Show went pretty well tonite. There were the usual changes, plus we shaved off 15 minutes without substantive edits.
Still, there were moments because some people didn't get the changes (as in they missed the cast meeting prior to the show).
They switched the end of the nativity to fade into the reprise of the main song. But not all of the kids got the message and their stage parents didn't help. So a couple of kids were stuck on stage when they should have exited. And of course they had no concept of "freeze."
I pulled the 8 year old playing my son off the turntable as he was about to walk back into Downtown Richmond...
Now my Stones' stuff is finally playing....
"Simpathy for the Devil".... Pleased to meet you...
These plays you do... does someone there write them, or are they established plays you put on?
Rutroh... finally got to the AC/DC stuff....
"Highway to Hell"...
"don't stop me... "
Jimmy Buffett... "One Particular Harbor"
Great song, that.
Evening Corin.... At least no one broke a leg!
Now summore Santana...
"Hey now... put your lights on..."
You want little? Try Z-gauge, by Marklin.
You can even buy ready-to-run setups in a briefcase. Vey pricey, though.
Roger that....
Also "A Pirate looks at 40". I used to think it was funny... till I got there. :-)
That is ~very~ cute!
It's a bonsai train!
Dang... good timing for me tonight...
"Dirty deeds done dirt cheap"...
Wax on... wax off...
They are completely original. And, most of the music is written specifically for the show. There are a couple of standard songs we always use (such as a medley of carols at the nativity). Most of the rest is written or at least arranged for the show.
And for two weeks, the front of our sanctuary becomes a Broadway sound stage.
This is the website Glorious Christmas Nights.
I'm thinking this year I'll buy an extra DVD and let it rotate through the Hobbit Hole for anyone who would like to see it.
