Well, I wish Dad had gotten into HO gauge, because the stuff for his is really big! He could do a lot more stuff in the space he has to work with with the little trains.
ecurbh remembers it said O gauge on the package. and it looked to scale with the other o guage buildings they had, like a depot and stuff.
Yah... but he always wanted the Lionel stuff. Kinda forces ya to O gauge. My old train set was all HO... and yah... you can do alot more with HO on a 4x8 sheet of plywood.
Outstanding... perfect... must have.
While we're discussing gift ideas, can I bug people yet again?
I'm kinda thinking of getting Margaret something car related for Christmas. She's driving quite a bit now, especially with her violin school being a pretty long drive away. Mostly she drives the little yellow Ford Focus hatchback, which has been dubbed "the Lemon". I'm thinkin' that's NOT a good car name, but....
Can anyone think of something fun, and fairly inexpensive? I thought maybe even something as basic as a nice travel mug, but I dunno.
I grew up with O gauge Lionel, but saw the light and moved into HO. Was a fascinating hobby. Thoroughly enjoyed it at the time. Too many moves though and it found new homes amongst the younger extended family members. Think I still have an engine and couple of cars.
Well now...Takuto just "confessed" as they put it in anime. Seems to be a much bigger deal for 'em than it would be for us, too. Yeesh...took him 40 episodes just to say "I like you"?
Still...could make for interesting times ahead.
Books on tape to listen to on her drives
furry warm sterring wheel cover.
:~D
He just needs a bigger layout than crammed in one corner. What would look really good is a shelf all the way around the living room. :~D
I still have all my HO engines and cars around someplace... and the old Aurora slot cars set that was *also* more or less HO gauge. It was great because you could set up trains and slot cars on the same board and it all pretty much matched. Had many many hours of fun with that stuff.
OK - I'll get it tomorrow. :~D
Hope it's not gone :~o
Ooh...books on tape is an EXCELLENT idea!
I like the steering wheel cover idea, too...but during the few times that Dad drove the car, he'd be absolutely disgusted. He hates anything like that!
Fuzzy dice? Better if made from genuine baby seal fur.
Dang... did I kilt it?
Evenin' everyone!
Nope!
Um...no.
Though...I did have some at one point! I confess! Someone gave them to me when I got my license, kinda as a joke. But I went ahead and put 'em in the car. ;-) I think they were more embarrassed by 'em than I was.
Sorry...was trying to get in one last little bit o' writing before bed.
Good evening!
