Well, I wish Dad had gotten into HO gauge, because the stuff for his is really big! He could do a lot more stuff in the space he has to work with with the little trains.

Yah... but he always wanted the Lionel stuff. Kinda forces ya to O gauge. My old train set was all HO... and yah... you can do alot more with HO on a 4x8 sheet of plywood.

I grew up with O gauge Lionel, but saw the light and moved into HO. Was a fascinating hobby. Thoroughly enjoyed it at the time. Too many moves though and it found new homes amongst the younger extended family members. Think I still have an engine and couple of cars.

You want little? Try Z-gauge, by Marklin.

You can even buy ready-to-run setups in a briefcase. Vey pricey, though.
