Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Mornin'
Gots to go get Jr. up for rehearsals. I don't have to be there until this afternoon, but he's there all morning.

Oh, by the way...
Good Morning, Hoddit Hole!
It's Saturday after Thanksgiving...I feel a trip to the mall (the one with the theater, for National Treasure) coming on.
I want to find a nativity set I saw last year and hope is reissued...all very traditional, except the people are all racially diverse American children (and a baby or large doll) in costume like a well-done church play.

Good Morning - Rained most of the night and all the snow is gone (insert happy face gif). But the once leafless yard is now leaf infested.
Gypsygirl has been walked and all is well in our corner of the shire. Rain has departed but a bit of the wind remains.
We'll be heading to attic for the Christmas stuff today - tree, lights, candle lights for the windows, ornaments and garlands. We may need a new wreath.

...in our corner of the shire...
Yesterday I saw a sign by a secluded country driveway, "Woody End"...a Shire name, IIRC.
The hilly country around could credibly include street signs for "Bagshot Row", "Bag End" etc.

Gypsygirl has been walked and all is well in our corner of the shire. All is also well in the west farthing... the horses have been fed and turned out, and it is foggy and still here.

Wow...everyone's already getting Christmas stuff up???? I must confess I have slowly been pulling stuff out myself. First Thanksgiving and Christmas in the new house!
Love you guys!

Good afternoon! Barely.
I'm kinda sorta trying to do some flyladying around here, but it's not really happening. Also I'm out of some cleaning supplies...which really means I *should* go to Wal-mart...but I refuse to even attempt that until after eight thirty at night, this time of year. I have a hard enough time going there during regular weekend crowds! I just don't handle crowds well, I guess. If I don't go in there with a written list and try to keep tunnel vision going so I just get what I need and get out, I end up getting all panicky and upset. *shudder* Don't like crowds. Don't like 'em at all.
I need to get back into writing my little sister's story! Hard to adjust to princesses and goblins and dragons after my rather boring NaNo story...

Heh...oops...I put myself in the ping list.
I haven't had enough coffee today, I guess.
And now...I'm talking to myself.

Good day!
I'm going to finish my story today, I think. Unless I do homework instead.
I am exactly the same way with crowds. Heck, I have enough trouble with malls on weekends during the normal times. Right now... shudder.
