The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yep. Toeses are much warmer now.

Hehehe...when I called the Insulation Guy about getting an estimate he started asking me about siding. "Dude, I want it in the crawlspace and the attic first!"

heh - makes sense to us, it's a lot easier to hammer on new siding than it is to slide around on your back in a crawl space; after all, 'there are fouler things than Orcs in the deep and dark places'.

Congrats on warm toeses. Saw that the weather weenies mentioned the "S" word for later in the week. Pshaw, I say, and pox on their houses.

smaagee report!

They are at Fort Lewis safe and he was in a big ole warehouse checking his stuff in. The Army has a full day planned for them today and we may be able to meet them about 4:00, help take them to get a rental car, and then they said what they might really like is to come pet horses! Another guy from the unit likes horses and would like to ride, I wish they were free early enough to still have daylight today.... I hope one of the other days we can arrange for that.

He said the air smelled really good here and the cold felt good. He said New Jersey smelled just like Iraq. ;~D

I've never been to Iraq but I have been to New Jersey.

Can the air in Iraq be that bad?

Eeek! Guess I need to buy a snow shovel. At least I don't have as much driveway as I did back home.

We have snow! But it didn't stick to the roads at all. Good snow knows how to behave.

Right. I'm going to lift now, and then do some homework, before errands. Still have to write today, and work on getting ahead for Monday, and my appartment needs a scrub.

Plug 'em in, and if one doesn't blow up, it should work.
