Hah! Me too. Also that thing makes it to much work to try to cosplay as him... need a 6pack that I don't have. :P

Heh...considering how most of the anime chicks dress...I'd never be able to do cosplay even if I wanted to. Not without a heck of a lot of work, in any case.

And I wouldn't anyway.

I'd say that's the kinda outfit it's OK to fake a bit. ;-)

Aacck!

Ear aches are no fun. Jr's had more than his fair share of 'em. And likely had trouble for years before we caught on.

He was in speech therapy before he started school. Therapist told us to get his hearing checked. She had noticed that he was basically reading her lips. When she covered her mouth, he could no longer say the word.

Got him tested. Found out he was hearing a normal speaking voice like a whisper. That was the first round of tubes.

Yikes! That's pretty scary stuff...

I guess we got lucky - no one with chronic ear problems in my family. I knew other families where at least one kid had ear ache after ear ache all through their childhood. Ugh.

Yeah, we had a good amount of parental guilt fer a while tho. All that time we thought he wasn't listening, he couldn't hear us.

We'd written it off to obstinance.

Rather than going back through pages and pages of My Comments...

Can you post the link to your story index again? I have it bookmarked at home, but forgot to do so here.

Good morning! I'm so glad it's Friday. Tonight, I party. Rest of the weekend... well... I'll try not to just work, at least.

The link is here. I need to update again... I've got a few more chapters...

Cool! Thanks. I'm hoping to get in a little reading time today.

I'm realizing I only have another week to get my character engaged...

Heh...maybe I won't run out of things to say before 50k after all. I hope.

That's good. My characters are stubbornly refusing to tell me what happens next, so it's kind of a struggle right now to stay on track.

Funny how hard they are to control, isn't it?

Sometimes I feel like I'm just hangin' on to the keyboard for dear life while they go careening wildly...

Heck, my main guy (the original, anyway) turned into an unsociable, condescending creep about ten thousand words in, and my character is now falling for someone who's his polar opposite.

I have no idea how this will end. My outline only worked for the first week or so.

I didn't bother with an outline because as hard as I tried, I couldn't figure out the muddle in the middle. Beginning, I knew, and the end more or less, but getting there is hard. I've just had a couple bad chapters that won't go anywhere. Sigh.

I hate the middle...I usually have a good beginning idea and a good ending idea with a few scenes in the middle like islands...but wading between 'em is something I'm NOT good at yet.

Nope, me either.

Ok, I managed to transition into what should be an easier scene, then I can tie off this chapter (tonight) and figure out what to do next. Clueless, though...

Hi! Maybe you can help!

I "adopted" through a friend a Colorado NG unit that was over in Iraq. I saved new magazines that guys would like (cars, outdoors, hunting, dogs, guns, etc.) and sent them off to her and she got them to the unit.

I still have a ton of magazines and the unit rotated home! Do you know anybody who wants a bunch of Car & Driver, American Hunter, Hiking, Hunting Retriever, etc. etc.?

FWIW, I homeschooled my son while we were looking for a special needs private school for him. We ran about 4 months. He did great.

The big selling point for him was that once we got through our work he could do what he liked! So much time in school is wasted in class changes, taking roll, and other BS, so we were always through by noon (even earlier if we started with the chickens). As far as hanging with his friends, he has Scouts, martial arts, church youth group, and horseback riding for that.

Since he has multiple learning disabilities, we felt he would do better in a school with a focus on that. And he's doing great, it's a tiny school, there are only 5 kids in his class. He'll be moving on next year to one of three private high schools in the area that deal with "learning differences" as they are calling them now.

But the home schooling was a good experience for us both. In fact, he didn't want to stop!
