The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Just asked my barmistress to open a bottle of champagne...

It's time. :-)

I have a feeling that we're going to be seeing this race litigated for a long, long time. If the RATS go down, they'll go down screaming bloody murder. This could get very nasty, nastier than we can even imagine. The whole state could become a conflagration zone if this is handled badly and calmer head don't prevail.

conflagration zone. Now there's a cool word.

Evening Scott! What's your schedule like for Friday? Still no word as to exactly when, but might you be able to go greet smaagee? If you're busy, would the Mrs like to go with us?

IF they end up coming into McChord, I did find out we can't get on base without a military ID. We'd be out of luck. From there he'd end up going to Fort Lewis, but the same would be true there. I hope he's coming commercial into SeaTac because we can predict that, and the time.

If all else fails, what about breakfast Sat or Sunday morning at Galloping Gerties?

Roger that. Gregoire will not go down quietly. It'll be stormy and nasty, and most probably will do them no good at all. Shows them for what they are, it does... :-)

Evening and Congratulations on the Gov elect. I'd keep a close eye on both St. Helens and Ranier, events like this could bring all sorts of spontaneous combustions and eruptions.

What do you think of a Saturday afternoon/evening at the sunset? Bill would give us a mostly private area if we wanted it...

All that cool stuff exists!

Gene MacDonald, former Florida FReeper, now in Las Vegas, runs a site called 0cents.com and has all kinds of goodies for FReepers if you check FR's home page and click FReep Stuff.

Roger that, Mister Bowman. The reverbs from this are going to resonate for a while (unfortunately... it ain't over for some more weeks).

But this will be big news, presuming that it sticks. Finally, a chance to encourage some business to come back to the state. Just maybe.

Evening! I meant to answer your ping...and got lost in the confusion. My wife is quite ill with a sinus infection (thought it was a cold for three weeks...now she's on the anti-biotics), so it may be just me but yes, I'd be happy to meet you guys somewhere and buy our friend a good beer! Breakfast Sat or Sun would work too. I just don't know if Melanie would be able to go...though she might want to just to be able to crow over the Governor's race with like-minded folk!

Well, I don't think all those agency heads and directors in Olympia like the idea of a Pubbie Governor, Pubbie Attorney General, Pubbie Sec of State. There's so much corruption after 24 years, that they could all be sent packing and might never be able to wangle their way back.
