The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, I now have a very good weight book, and a set of weights, so no excuses at all.

I like your plan! It sounds like a lot less work....

A little time in Took's Corner never did anyone no harm...

But no, you're in no doghouse. It took us weeks to teach Fedora the true meaning of "funkle."

It's called "The Body Sculpting Bible for Women". It has illustrations of lots of different weight lifting exercises, and programs to get you in shape, or keep you there.

Ok. Have decided to hit the diet hard starting Saturday - I can lock myself in my apartment for two days and not be tempted by anything during induction-phase.

Illustrations are good! I should check half.com for a used copy of that or something similar. I have a basic set of dumbells (3,5 and 8 lb. weights), but mostly have just used a few articles from websites. A book would be great!

Good morning, BTW, I am awake now.

I surely do support that Marine against any charges certainly. And you know, I am seeing a considerable commentary from the moderate talking heads (Imus, Barnacle, and others this morning) that we are just sick of the media overplaying every scandalous scrap of news they get and failing to report the sins of the enemy with the same graphic detail.... but the thing that makes me angriest is that they will give NO time to covering anything good done by our troops.

3, 5 and 8 should be enough to do most of the workouts, though for the legs you might need to get a pair of 12s. It gives really detailed instructions about how to to the lift, with at least two pictures. And I like that it says, "Do 12-15 of these, then 15-20 of these," and so forth, I'm not good at figuring out what to do on my own.

You know, some days are awful...I just feel like I just slog through the day, don't get anything done, almost can't think straight...

Then I hit the floor running like today and work like a busy bee! So far I have

1. Ground up the habaneros
2. Got the bread machine going
3. Loaded and washed a load of dishes
4. Washed a load of white clothes

All the while, dealing with the kids' school! Hanging the clothes on the line takes the biggest chunk of time...but it's gotta be done if we want to wear underwear! LOL

Way to go, 2J!

I've started taking my evening walks again. This morning, I walked Becky to school just for added measure.

Met with her teacher for a few minutes, who told me Rebecca was the most well-behaved child in child and that her vocabulary was amazing.

Goes to show what a difference staying home with your child makes, even if it was only for the first year.

Alyson is barely talking. This past month is when she finally started naming objects and she's 2 and a half years old! *sigh*
