The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

They were also slamming her appearance. Huh?

Grr...I should just close my ears when stuff like that goes on.

I would pick that moment to come out as a raging feminist who thinks any slur toward a woman is a slur toward all women... or womyn, rather.

No kidding.

I think it's best that I just don't get involved, but grrrr....

Ah, you're wiser than I am.

I did no writing at all yesterday. Instead I investigated a new series that may satisfy my need for a weekly anime... we'll see...

I'm a little ahead...it's tempting to not write today, since it'll mean staying up late and I'd rather stay up late watching anime...

Yeah, me too...

had to drop what I was doing to go take medicine to my little girl at school. I set it down right in front of her this morning to take, and 'she forgot.' *GAH!* this child really makes me wonder some times....

Heh... I'm not sure if I'm actually behind but I need to write today...

Guess you got hooked on FMwS, huh? Mwahaha...

Pretty much, yeah. Especially since Takuto's substory is starting to come into play.

Hehe, is that where you're up to, huh? I like Takuto...

Ugh, weird morning. Had one complaint about "blue screen of death". Then the printers don't work. China has blocked our servers. (!?) And it's nowhere near lunchtime.

I'm up to episode 17 or 18...he's sulking.

We had trouble with some places in China blocking e-mail from us, too. Dunno why. But since it's on their end...there wasn't much we could do.

By the way...

I've got a copy of the first episode of FMA, dubbed, off Cartoon Network. I have only managed to get ten seconds into it so far but I'll listen to it and report back at some point.

Oh, and funny story - am loaning my friend my FMA disks - she said yesterday she'd watched the first one, and I was making some general conversation when I realized that she'd managed to watch the fourth episode, not the first. No wonder she was confused.

Takuto likes to sulk. Yep. But he does it pretty well.

Yeah, the campus administrators sent a letter to the department administrators detailing all the steps they've tried so far to get China not to block us. (My favorite was: "had several emails translated into Chinese. No reply from China yet.")

Heh...as complicated as it is, FMA is confusing even if you start with the first episode! It'd be all but impossible to understand if you missed that...

Heh, I think so too. But she does like the songs...

(I'm going to give the dub a fair shot, but honestly I think it's competing for Worst Dub Ever right now).

Why are you looking at dubbed versions? Just out of curiosity?

For the same reason people look at train wrecks. And also so I can intelligently insult it rather than just saying "dubs 5ux0r".

You know 2J, Arafat's gone to his eternal reward...and now there's a thread speculating that Kim Jong Il may be dead.

I'd think that would at least warrant some pumpkin bread...

Or chocolate! Yeah... or alcohol tonight if it turns out to be true... or maybe just chocolate.
