The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Actually 2J, it's been awful for her. This won't be easy, but it's got to be the best.

Nana was practially giddy when she heard (the guy's a real jerk).

In other Nana news: Nana ate at the dining room table tonite for the second dinner in a row. Since she's been home we've been taking meals to her on her tray.

Yeah, but to loose all her stuff!! How heartbreaking!

Unless everything she owns is crap, like mine stuff. LOL

Speakin' of crap...I think I'll have a half a cup!

Oh that's GREAT about Nana!

I was just thinking...you guys have known me so long that you must remember when I used to have to go "bathe the boys"...remember that? Now I don't do anything but say "Get your baths, boys!" and they do it on their own!

Heh. Once upon a time dummy me sliced up some jalapeno's for a recipe. Washed the dishes by hand, took a shower, washed my hair, etc. The upshot is that I had my hands in all kinds of soapy water after the pepper and took out my contacts at the end of the day. Bad move. My eyes burned like fire when I put those things in the next day.

Now I'm shopping for carpets. Looks like there are some good deals at Overstock.com.

My new windows are here (replacing the two small ones on the west side) so the window guy will be here Wednesday. The insulation guys come on Thursday. I go washer/dryer shopping this weekend.

Yeah, that's too bad about their stuff. I'm sure there was nothing particularly valuable. Although one of the reasons they had problems was they spent too much money on stuff, so who knows.

But I'm sure there were a lot of sentimental items as well.

I gotta tell you, since I know you have a tender spot for Joshua...

I just now told him he had to quit playing Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and get ready for bed.

I went into the kitchen to get him a drink of water. He followed me into the kitchen and said "When you told me I had to turn off the computer, I just GASPED!"

ROFLOL!!!! He GASPED!

I started a thread.
Somehow, the mods are keeping it in News/Activism.

I prefer the flavor of cayenne. I've got a whole bag of dried cayenne and I need to make some pepper flakes.

This is LSA--Overstock.com is the best!! That is the place where I was able to get "The Cholesterol Myths" for $11.40, when it was $15 at Amazon and $20 retail. I have been very pleased with the linens I have ordered from them.

I saw some 5'x8' rugs there for under $100. I'll get at least one for the living room.
